how do you guys use your equalizer pedal

those in search of EQ units, do consider a parametric alternative, eg:

IMO: parametric eq are easier to use
kinda like ur basic treble, mids, bass knobs.
Used to use the Natha East NE-1 para EQ ... ok some ppl like it coz it's easy to use. But i really dislike the lack of control ~!
wan abit here, wan abit there ... but cannot ...

Might take awhile to get used to a graphic equalizer if you're not sure of the frequencies.
But can always refer to http://soft.com.sg/web/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=7004

Read the manual and check out the recommended settings.
This gives you a head start, followed by ur own personal customisation from there.
:)

hihi! question, sry pedal noob here.

u guys were talking bout using eq pedal as a boost during solos right? cant u use a volume pedal or somthinglike that?

the parametric version focuses on sweeps rather than targetting a specific frequency. as mentioned above, some players prefer to zero in on the frequency rather than a 3-tier sweep (low/ mid/ high).

just a reiteration: EQ pedal doesn't boost volume/ gain/ drive. it gives you what you need to highlight in terms of frequencies, during solos. this is just one apllication though...
