$$How do you all save your money$$

if you smoke, smoke less. if you're fat, eat less. hahah. i'm trying to do both. that's how i save. but at the end of the day, i tend to impulsively spend my savings on guitar accessories.

hey look at it on the bright side. you become closer to quitting smoking, you get thinner (though this is an unhealthy way unless you eat fruits and veggies) and you save money!

it's like killing 3 birds with one stone!!!

How about setting up a piggy bank exclusively for $1 coins? So everytime you have $1 coin change, don't use it. put it in the piggy bank. I think my can's filled up pretty a lot. Cousin of mine started it and he took out like $150++(can't remember how much) after a couple of months.

And then you use that $150 to invest in soemthing you can sell back for more than twice or thrice the price. I think that'll make you more money.

yeah smoking really can make people poor, especially students, having to buy a pack of cigarette every 2 days...

I think a good idea is to divide your pay or your allowance as soon as you get it and set a certain sum aside for saving. Keep that sum somewhere in a box where it's not as accessible, so you won't be so tempted to spend it. When going out, plan for what you need to spend and bring the amount, with about $10 extra for emergency purposes.

After ur N's try finding job at a fast food chain....or a coffee chain...juz like wad i did when i finish my N's....and I am still werking there...
For me, i save my money by not buying uneccessary stuff...if i wanna buy those uneccessary stuff, i asked my parent to buy it for me...nice trick....

my parents use tht tactic. with $1 coins and 50 cent coins. same piggy bank, 2 different coins. 150% more money! hahaha

But seriously, if you want serious money.. start the thinking of a great idea to make money now (while collecting the $1 coins), get into a tertiary institute and tell your lecturer you have this great business idea and would like to invest a sum of it to start it.

SPRING Singapore has some funds for tertiary institutes. Every buck you invest they give you back 3 i think. Not bad. Only for tertiary students. Which I so wish I had paid a bit more attention in class back then.

Dude, its better not to work when you're still schooling, unless you're able to cope well with studies. WORK IS A CHORE. Just don't spend money, resist temptation.

Wah...U ppl lucky to get allowance. My method of saving is

STEP 1: Monthly Pay - Phone Bills - Utilities - Give Parents - Give allowance - Daily Food - Daily Transport - Daily Booze - Daily Cigarettes = Still Not Enough

STEP 2: (Still Not Enough + No Eat + No Boozing + Cut Down Smoking + Learning to appreciate the taste of Grass & Sand) x Any number of months u willing to endure = ESP or Gibson or Fender or PRS + LTD or Epiphone or Squire + BOSS or AMT or Whatever

STEP 3: Rinse and Repeat for further purchase

What exactly is this fund thing? You invest in them a certain sum and they will pay you the dividends after a certain time?

Ha. Cigarettes here cost only approximately, not even US$1. About SGD1.10 perhaps?

I don't need to save on that.

You can check it out under fundings on SPRING I think.. it's called SEED funding or something like that..

You have a business idea, they fund you to start up. But for every dollar you put in as capital.. they will put in another 2 or 3 bucks. So if you have 5000 bucks as a start, they'll put in another 10K or 15K for you to start up. : )

1) you guys are lucky I had $10 per week when I was in sch 10 years back. walked home everyday or hitch a ride from classmates. but ok la , nowadays the food's expensive. fair enough.

2) broke? sell backside. or save $1 coins whenever you "TOUCH" one.. I saved for my gears throughout my NS by keeping that $1 coin method for 2 years. at the end of it, I had $1K. ontop of that my driver bonuses for my NS life ($1K) and getting free driving licence (saved $2K worth). work freelance etc. in NS? you eat alot (like me)? hang out with the geeky skinny dudes who always waste food. be great friends with them and take their un-eaten share. BMT breakfast is usually 1 of each - sausage/egg/bread/lor mai kai. but mine was about 3 to 4 servings heheh. tried and tested. no harm caused, cos i'm not asking you to snatch their share, but save the earth, don't waste food. kids in africa are starving..

3) don't buy UNNECESSARY STUFF! don't club/pub/drink/smoke/whore,stay healthy don't fall sick (medical fee) and don't get clingy GFs that expects you to call them all the time.(phone bills). there's internet for a reason. socialize through MSN, THEN meet up. but if you're trying to save so badly to bomb on gear, most likely this is one of the sacrifices. almost no social life.

4) get sugar mummy if you got the looks that attracts MILFs. "OH STIFLER'S MOM!"
if you're gay, get sugar daddy (i'm serious.I knew someone who's straight but his sugar daddy's gay. just putting up an act.) it's cruel but well, dog eat dog world.

5¢ worth.
