How do u find the metalcore scene in Singapore?

LOL , i think this thread is going out of point ! . we're talking about METALCORE , not MOSHING ! . HAHA

basically , i think the local metalcore scene is kinda shaky , don't you guys think so ? .

i myself am trying to form a metalcore band too , i only get alot of guitarist offer but not drummers nor vocalists .

talking about metalcore , how many of you softies out there are "straight-edge" ?

the way i see it, metalcore won't last much longer. but still doesn't stop me from playing it with my band (can't resist the melodic riffs and brutal vocals). hope it doesn't die too early though. lol

metalcore , dont emphasize on brutal vocals , they kinda looking into the melody making in their songs .

I just feel metalcore is the only genre that encourages moshing in my opinion... and its just part of the spirit and culture to like hxc dance and body slam and stuff...

And yes the local frontmans need to up the showmanship part a bit to get the crowd with them

And you can't just mosh to anything... only certain genres...

i only hear people complain of people hxc dancing during metalcore shows. very rarely about not-enough-moshing lol.

Well IMO, people only get the chance to hxc dance if the crowd just stones and goes dead... if everybody is having fun bouncing around and stuff... no problem haha...

No offence but metalcore is a trend. You rarely or dont see metalcore kids that much here around 4-5 years ago. Or maybe the music is not well known yet?

Metalcore is not a pure genre I might say. They are playing music that sounds like the other. And nowadays, not only metalcore, but deathcore scene is uprising which I find totally crap.

They want to be everything metal music has to offer. They fit in some snort, some melodic, some brutal, some grind, and a bit of shredding.. But no doom metal element..

But overall, the kids are a nuisance..

metalcore is heavymetal + hardcore punk (as quote by wiki)

You're talking like metalcore is the god of all genres..

Im not saying its wrong to listen to metalcore but im sick of it already. Here and there, all metalcore. Turn right, scene kids. Turn left, emo kids. Some look like one, but admit that they still look brutal enough to be called 'METAL'..

And where does all the hairstyle come from? Metalcore, deathcore, emo, screamo all has the same hairstyle, well at least from what i see..

The kids, the music, the fashion tends to go overboard. Everything goes way overboard. Even the moshing has become the funniest thing one could ever see. Kungfu moshing? Learn the right moves from IP MAN!

And thanks boon for supporting. And yes, Punks are not dead.. Its because the rise of metalcore scene with the kids, you RARELY see cultures like Punks and Skinheads, or even Metalheads at the edge of Peninsula anymore.. It's now even a place of attraction for matreps.

power la you ! , talking about the kids . i think all they do is follow one another , have emo hair , be emo and do what scene kids do . i doubt they understand the music they're listening to . it is as if you can't listen to (insert genre)core unless you're emo or a scene kid , who the heck came up with that man !
