Lola, why do you assume i lump hindu and muslims together? I want to discuss about bands which might be proposing these two religion's ideology onto the CD that's all. So from what i read,there's a lot of Hindu bands especially Metals,but there's no Muslims bands right? what about Raihan? what do you guys think?

regarding Muslim rock bands..

actually, there are a couple and ive heard them over the radio.
but i cant remember the name of the band though but i know how the song goes..

regarding Raihan, its a Nasyid band. Nasyid is a form of religious singing based on Islamic teachings, stories and so on. It used to be more in the Arabic tune but nowadays Nasyid is sung to newer musical tempo to suite taste of current listeners.

Actually rock/metal bands like Lefthanded, Wings etc. got some songs which incorporate Muslim beliefs and values into the song. Like Seruan, talking bout a guy who lost the right path going back after waking up and hearing the Azan(or prayer call) being called out..

nope they arent prayers..there are 4 vedas in hindu mythology..they are writings (something like bible/quran)

a project im working on & which will probably start in december is based around themes like belief. im including abrahamic, vedic, greek & nordic material. I dont know of any band that solely sings abt Islam & Hinduism, but a band that praises the Lord in all 3 main abrahamic religions (Islam, Judaism, Christianity) would b Orphaned Land.

Anyway when making rock music, religion is best left untouched. Some just find creativity in it thats all.
