hmmm since its a good topic to be brought up i mus first tell the person who started this thnks....

personally......as a percussionist i must learn both treble and bass clef and read it well.....because theres timpani and mallet....i did learn it.....but i don want it tt much......u can learn notes anytime....anywhere....but learning to hear and listen and feel is not easy...so im blessed to be able to feel......i would encourage all musicians....to learn to feel first then learn notes...tts my opinion

i agree with u dude..

feel is impt..it gives the song more spice.

it juz brings more life to a song.

what if you feel wrong. aiya for improvisation i think ur theory still got to be good. yes music is about feeling but can you be sure you everytime feel on stage your feel is good? or ur feel this round is the same as the first round?!

you never get better this way. why not just squeeze this 12 silly dumb thing into ur brain and you can start running notes more often and when there is really a need.

i do agree a feel and flair for music is important but not many people who feel music will succeed comparing to people who knows why their work is written this way why this note got to be there why the 3rd or the 7th note is important to define the chord quality and all. its better than feeling, cos feeling is like guessing?

thats my view here , i just don think playing good music is all about feeling the knowledge and application is imporatant. however i do agree that the musician feel is harder to train than seeing notes. but its better to have the best of both worlds right and it don take long for you to memorise 12 notes aniway.
