sorry for bringing my problem up to you all softies.

im using an epiphone korean les paul, however, it keeps going outa tune. after a few bends, the G and B just keeps going out.. irritating as hell! im using new strings. do i need to get some pro to change tuners for me or something?

Also, the pots seem to crackle abit.. think it needs some re-soldering?

and by the way, is there any way to remove buckle rash?

seems like my guitar needs to be reserviced.. any idea where to get it done?

thanks alot.
sorry ah i couldnt find another thread similar to mine

eh bro, i think you should be more specific in the thread title. lolx.

if you've just changed strings then yea it'll go out of tune cos you gota stretch the strings. keep bending em and tuning em. new strings gota be stretched. also, you might wanna tighten the screws on the tuners a bit.

if the pots crackling then u might need to change em. there are solvents for cleaning pots, but recommend you just change em to good ones. maybe dimarzios or cts pots.

buckle rash......eh....short of sanding and and refinishing the clear coat.....dont know how to get rid of it. haha. but no point eh, it'll just come back again.

cheers!

Those are the notorious problems with epiphone electrics. Watch out for your toggle switch too, it's easily spoilt. You may want to try what dric said first to see if it improves things.

Buckle rash can be removed to be made as good as new depending on how deep it is into the finish.

Hmm.

About your tuners, it's always important for one to stretch in their new strings before any serious playing takes place. Also as dric has mentioned.. the tightening of the screws at the machine head buttons is not to be taken with a pinch of salt, I've solved my tuning issues with such a remedy twice before.

Regarding your pots, I would recommend you to switch them, but do take note of the resistance value of each pot, you can play around with 500k, 1meg pots of any brands to your fancy, but I suppose you can't go wrong with allparts pots? I've actually never bothered with the brands... and my pots all work perfectly fine.

As for the buckle rash... I was wondering why would one even have to worry about it if you take good care of your instrument (unless it's 2nd hand?). General rule of thumb to avoid buckle rash is to stop being vain and throw away your gaudy, large clip-on buckles.

However since the damage has been done :? you can try and wet-sand the area with a fine-grit (700-800 grit) water-resistant sandpaper (do not use the wood types, but the grey-ish or green ones you can find in hardware stores) and then use metal polish like Autosol or Brasso to buff out the fine scratches. It may not be as good as new, but it would certainly help to rectify the axe aesthetically in the eye of the beholder.

Hope this gives you some insight.

BUT.. BUT MY GHEETAR IS KOREAAAN!!!
HOW CAN THIS BE.. >=[

Im quite sure its not with the string stretching.
i dont know if anyone has this problem.. but when the guitar goes outa tune.. and u tune it back, the tuner 'squeaks'. . . ?!?!?!

yeah i wouldnt ever scratch my guitar.. it's 2nd hand, thats why theres the buckle rash.

sometimes the lead channel doesnt work.. and u gota poke the pots abit then it'll crackle and work. GRAHHHH.

but id say its in good condition for a 10 year old guitar though..

Hmm, just save yourself the trouble and heartache and go replace the worn out components. They have had a hard life

crappycrappy, pls edit your thread title to reflect your post better.

your title "HELP" is not helping the forum. imagine everyone follow your example, how do we organise the forum effectively?
