Haha never tried this two products before, but i got myself a Marshall micro amp ms-2...haha all it does is the amplify the sound for you to hear..lol! It can even be run on batteries and its not bad...It even got overdrive.

Started with the Pocket but ended up with the Pandora

I had the Pocket Pod and like it a lot. Being a personal guitar effects device and with the downloadable software to manage the device is really great for a gearhead like me. The software helps me understand how the device works and how you can tweak the factory supplied settings. The online community for the Pocket Pod is clearly larger than the Pandora. One gripe I have with Pocket Pod is that it sucks the battery really quick, reminding you that such devices are only for home use. Anyway, it works much better than an amp - it is small, there is software to manage, there's the community, and it totally portable! Not to mention the MP3 input and the availability of the line out connection.

I would not have gave it up if it were to have the Rhythm and Phase Trainer of the Pandora. Both devices comes with very good effects and modeling (at least for starters).

The Pandora is almost like well a pandora box - it has practically all that you would ever want for a guitar personal device (for the Bass player, too) except for the fact that it only records to a maximum of 80 seconds from the AUX input, you can save this recording, too (but only once each time) and although the recording is audibly at a low bitrate, it is good enough to help figure out the notes.

The Rhythm function is really clever - you get the accompaniment of a bass guitar with the choice of key. And to top it off, you can record just about everything available during playback. I have yet to try this, though.

Two very clear differences is that the Pandora comes with a port for a Foot Switch which is really great and it allows you to save to 4 channels - this is missing in the Pocket Pod. Secondly, it consumes only 4.5V compared to 9v on the Pocket Pod. But the Pocket Pod is the sexier one with the bean shape red look whilst the Pandora's appearance betrays what the wonders can do!

The Pandora's Phase Trainer, Rhythm and Jam recording was the deciding factor, I must say, for me to 'move away' from the Pocket Pod! It is almost S$100 more! But you get the Korg REMS technology found in their products and a software that allows you to record onto your computer!

Lastly, I found the technology used on the Pandora rather similar to Vox Tonelab LE I use.
