help on my clean tone having a little drive

So i have a this small Peal amp. Its perfectly fine. But when i switch on my pedals( noise gate and eq), it will have a little distort sound on it. Any idea whats wrong and how to fix it??

Change your pickups to something softer like a Lace Sensor Lipstick pickup

Well here's what I can think of

-your signal is overloading the amp, causing some mild distortion
-your pedals are faulty because they shouldn't be distorting unless you add an immense amount of gain from them
-your EQ pedal is boosting frequencies that seem to sound like they're distorting when they're not
-your practice amp is crappy/faulty
