Help needed: Amp selection

Hi all. I'm sourcing for a new electric guitar amp for one of the halls in my church. I'm looking for something between 50-60 watts, preferably not a tube amp (don't want the maintenance fuss).

Right now i'm really interested in the Marshall AVT50. It's going at S$650 at Davis.

Can anyone of you recommend anything comparable to that? If you can, please help me further by stating the price and where I can find it.

My budget is S$750, not a cent higher.

Thanks folks!

you can acquire a SMARVO 2X12 amp for <$400...

otherwise, the new Ibanez Toneblaster X should be auditioned (to hear the much improved drive, to say the least...).

the marshall you have in mind is a good choice, also you can consider the Vox valvatronix series, their 50 watt's definitely sweet. for church it'll be plenty and for worship it'll be heavenly, coldplay anyone? :)

I was about to mention the Crate powerblock mate to a budget Vox Cab. Should be within or slightly above the budget.

quote markedymark: AAAH. i'd get one if i had more room to put a cab.

the PowerBlock is wonderful with a 1X12- i'm sure you have space for that...

how much? as per review stated...

that's because, the review's for the power block, not the cab...

2 dealers currently offering the 1X12 cab: Davis/ Ranking, suggest you call them up individually, i don't wanna quote conflicting prices here...

got a 4x12 for mine...

very nice.... i'm still contemplating whether to ditch my little mojofied modified vox pathfinder and rolannd JC50 for a crate powerblock. hmmmmmmmm......

guess better to put it on the back burner. don't wanna spend unnecessary $$$
