Guitarists & Bassists Fret Hand "Mutation"...

Hey guitarists, bassists, and fretted-instruments players,

Ever put your palms together, and compare the length of your fingers on your left hand (LH) with those corresponding ones on your right hand (RH)?
i.e. comparing:
LH thumb with RH thumb,
LH index with RH index,
LH middle with RH middle,
LH ring with RH ring,
LH pinky with RH pinky.

All my LH fingers are longer than my RH fingers by about 5mm...
(the fret hand fingers are longer)
Man, that's one effect of playing the guitar for more than 10 years... :?

i dunno if its actually a psychological thingy after reading your posts but yeah... my fretting hand fingers do actually look like their longer than the fingers on the other hand

cowripper, get someone to take a look at your fingers... it may not be a psychological thing... i guess we do work our frethand fingers a lot more than our pickhand fingers.

My left hand ( fretting hand ) is about 1cm longer than my right hand.. OMG. Maybe my hands very small, and I play bass, so it kinda stretches my fingers really much.
