Guitar-Selection SOS!

Hey dude, after all it's going to be my last guitar! It's image on me DOES of course matter a lot. C'mon! :D haha!

Shred, have you ever tried the ESP Horizon FR-II before? Is it light/thin/comfortable? I love the guitar's appearance and maybe i'm probably going to go for it instead of the Ibanez S series.

Anyone?

Image does matter but I think... using your ears is an important thing too. Have you ever stopped listening to someone playing because he sounded (note: sound) bad? I can't imagine playing much if I can't get any sounds I like out of my rig.

But I mean. You're right. If its metal, rawk? Then GET THEM POINTY GUITARS!!!!! Hehehe.

No, never tried the ESP before... for some reason, those Horizons I see in singapore have active pups, I'm not a fan of active pups.

Production guitars - you should go and try a selection. They can, and do, vary in weight. Sometimes you get a light one... sometimes a little more heavy...

them pointy guitars can be rather big. my warlock's body is huge. the whole guitar needs a big bass gigbag to keep, i tried keeping it in my bro's bass bag and it didnt fit inside.

and yea i stopped listening to some dude (hes supposed to be the "best" guitarist in school) play halfway through his performance cos his tone simply was bad. it was screechy and stuff and he was playing metal through single coils (i know its possible but its quite hard to achieve that if you're just plugging ur guitar straight to an amp right?)

yea i noe thats why i said its possible but i thought it was hard to achieve. he was using the stock single coils on a weird guitar and stuff. made him sound weird.

I recommend Ibanez S Series or the Ibanez Erodyne (or is it Ergodyne) series.

>Smaller in size - Check. Well it looks smaller, but actually same length/width as the RG series

>Light, comfortable, thin - Check, thickness is about 1.5cm at the horns, 3.5cm at the center of the body. Curved body makes it very comfortable, and it's definitely light.

>Floyd Rose - the ZR Trem is really good! Not sure what trem's on the Erodyne.

That Ibanez Ergodyne thing.. is probably going to be heavy. The body is not made of wood, its some.. plastic or something, I can't recall.

yea its a heavy guitar. when i first saw it i thought it looked like the js model and thought its gonna be like js series not so heavy. but when i carried it it sure was heavy. but looks good though.
