Hey everyone, just wondering if anyone has a good place to buy Picks etc... for example i am addicted to the ibanez picks... but they only swee lee only has the signature models which i kinda of hate..dunno why. Thinking of switching over to Davisguitar's pickboy Pos A grip picks.. the ones with the holes in the pick for added grip.but i tihnk they also sold out. so looking to buyonline , anyone has any good sites and Has bought online before?. issit safe?... can it work with debit card??? or must credit card?...

anyone has ANY IDEA where to get a nice "chio" leather gig bag for a strat? so far can only find black and obiang looking ones or.. really really SPACE AGE looking ones like ritter. just need a nice simple tan leather gig bag with solid padding for my strat. saw one REALLY good looking one on ebay going for USD$200 it was a fender custom shop 50th annversary model full leather gig bag if im not wrong. wah its SO BLOODY beautiful... but way way too expensive.

sorry ah the post abit long... :OP

cheers,
min.

i tried the metal picks, at 1.50 from Music Plaza [ps] and 2.00 at Davis.

well, just be careful when using them, or u may scratch the body...heng my guitar got pickguard. =)

its good for speed picking, and yeah...you gotta try to know it.. =)

the ibanez picks are great the Joe Satriani model is also good, if you haven't tried one, make sure you do... 8)

i've since switched to Dunlop Stubby as it has a depression for better grip. using 2.0/ 3.0 these days... i also file the tip to make it sharper for more precise picking...

am using speed picks for my playing,.. the tip, is curved i think it interacts better with the way i hit the strings so, to me its better feel than ordinary picks, n i can get more defined n precise sound from the picking, still its not everyone cup of tea, n hahaha sume time i dun use pick, so ill juz do w my hand, but now am trying hybrid,... sorry OT,..

cheers

yea i saw those in guitar gallery too but they were way over priced..i bought like ten i think? .. those 1.2mm ones... why oh why did d'addario discontinue the jazz pros... DAMN THEM TO HELL!!! no body ordering online?... or anyone wanna share money to order in bulk online?? lets take the plunge !!!.

after using the metal picks , my pickup had lotsa black silverly substances on it...stopped using it. Now using the Fish pick at Luthers Music.

yea the "metal shavings " will stick to your pickup pole pieces... better be careful. personally i feel the jazzIII is damn shiok , esp the red ones... the black ones i tihnk diff material?? correct me if im wrong.
but prob is the red one has two sizes and i would really like one that is "IN BETWEEN" the two available sizes.... small is too small for me to do my heavy funk strumming... and the reds tends to FLY out of your grip mid performance. black ones though with the slightly better grip surface also seems to have the same problem.

i have scoured the net for custom pick web sites.. but only found custom pick printing etc... most of the shapes are the sickening 351. ah pek size... ok ok i mean traditional shape. nothing like the ibanez picks i so desire :( :( :( :(

the closest is the pickboy " alot of holes for grip " ones ,which i intend to order from either davis or

now if only they made these in white .... ARGH life is SO UNFAIR!!!!

if u wanna buy online a good site is www.elderly.com

its of coruse a bit expensive since you have to factor in shipping and it works out to be about a dollar a pick, but thats what you have to pay if you want door step shipping and u cant find the pick u want in sg.

You can use a debit card and shipping takes a week.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!! THANK YOU BLESS YOUR KIND SOUL!!! finally information that is so extremely useful... simple as " yes you can use a debit card " .. you have unlocked an entire realm of internet buying fo rme. thanks dude.

hi does anyone here sharpen their picks instead of buying new ones? i mean like using pen knife to shave the sides? i thought thats a kinda good idea, sharp picks kinda have more accuracy and precision... especially for those who do alt picking most of the time

Chan, try stubby triangle. Purple transparent pick. Big ah, but my kind. I dont like small picks, feel uncomfortable. Lol. You can get them from Davis.

yeah...had a few of that too, but what i did was actually to 'sand' off the coated layer, using old guitar strings, the heaviest low E string, or you can try using a sandpaper.

i tried the awe-in-one, but i think that they can do better if they came up with a coated pick [like the ibanez ones] or with designs...the current ones are a lil' bit plain...yupz...
