just wondering if there are people out there who collect old pedals ( from the 1970s or 1980s ). so far, I only know that David of Ebenex music, Kelvin of GC collect old pedals. if there are other people out there who collect such old pedals ( Boss, Ibanez, Electro Harmonix, etc ), post pictures of them here in this thread.

I'll start the ball rolling with my personal collection of Japan made Boss pedals.

If you notice, most pedals, maybe not all, that was made in the late 70s-80s have only two knobs..

No.

I subscribe to Zachary Vex's philosopy.
More knobs = more tone.
More knobs = rule the world.

haha. I've done an A/B between a MIJ & MIT DS-2. the MIJ one definitely sounds sweeter as compared to the MIT DS-2. another reason would probably be due to the fact that Kurt Cobain used one  .

I've never used a DS-1 ( MIT & MIJ ) before. then again, since I'm into collecting these pedals, I should be aquiring one pretty soon  .

wad does the slow gear dot o ur sound?

volume swells. it makes your guitar sound almost like a violin. it is also quite pick sensitive. it also can be used to cut off the hum coming from the distortion pedals. however, I dont think thats the purpose of that pedal hahaha.

heres a sample of an SG-1 clone. the guyatone SV-2

I prefer a simple setup. personal preference maybe. tweaking even 3 knobs is a real headache for me hahaha.

anyone else who collects pedals? I would love to see a few old Big Muffs and TS-808s around :P

Haha actually, I think less is more sometimes. Simplicity is always good, easy to find sweet spot and instant tweaking on stage (otherwise need to stick a piece of paper on floor just for settings! :P).

However...variety requires loads of knobs, so like you say, more is more tone is also true. Like your ex-fuzz factory.... 8)

mmmm...i got back my Black Label MIJ SD-1 after 10 yrs !! :D

how is it? too much drive would result in a lot of noise for me. or maybe it's just my SD-1 hahhaa. care to post some pictures of it :D ?

no idea man, I never did an A/B test between the 2. some MIJ SD-1s ( like mine ) are using the same chip as the current MIT SD-1s. however, the PCB should be different in some way or another. some people say they sound similar but I wouldnt know unless I tried.
