guess this is my first time posting in this section of the forum..cos im a bassist haha.

right. so i have a fender bassman 25

and i got a guitar

is it ok to plug in and play thru the amp ?

imo, it sounds good! haha

hello jiawei haha i think can la. its the bass into guitar amp then cannot i think, cause the bass freq range will mess the guitar amp up.

it is possible. bass amps have a wider frequency range than guitar amps, so your guitar's 'narrow' frequency should not do any harm to the bass amp.

it can work, just like how keyboards can go through guitar amps. guitars can go through computer speakers. :D

also like how any form of signal cable can become a guitar cable.

i've been using dean markley bass amp for nearly 2 yrs.doesnt change.
kinda fun to exlpore using a bass amp

i use a fender musicmaster bass amp and it sounds a hell of a lot better clean than any guitar amp i've ever used, barring a tweaked bassman-style custom amp that one of my friends in the states had. plus it's cheap cheap :)

i used to plug all guitars into my Ibanez Soundwave 30 when it was still around. the cleans are peculiar sounding but my p-90s sound unique through it. distortion-wise, bass amps suffer from this nasal midrange voicing...

The bassman i used to own, i like to play my guitar thru the bass channel ALOT!!! In fact, many ppl jumper both channels today, n blend it.

Have fun yeah.

i think stevie ray vaughan plugs his strat into a bassman..

imo guitars (esp. single-coil-equipped ones) sound superb when played clean through a bass amp. cant say the same when distorted though..

didnt srv use twin reverbs and dumbles?

IMO, the gain on a bass amp for guitar is terrible. cleans are ok, but guitar amps would sound better, with a nicer high end glassiness and sparkle.

basses will screw up guitar amps meh? can anyone confirm?

i thought it would just make the bass sound anorexic

yes- do NOT plug your bass into a guitar amp but it's ok to plug a guitar into a bass amp (of course, the tone would be diff...).

plugging bass into guitar amp and at low volume is still ok.

Its the loud volume and prolonged usage that will spoilt the guitar amp/speaker.

I have tried bass and baritone into guitar amp. It just thinned out the low freq.

the action of plugged in bass into guitar amp wont destroy, but the action of pumping notes at loud volume and certain boosted frequency will destroy it

imho

yeah... most of the time the speaker will blow... but so far I've been quite lucky with my molify Lolang JayCee feeftee with EH 12" 75W speaker.

Can pump quite oommchik ooomchik bass thro it!
