guitar dilemma

hey people. i need some help. im saving for a new guitar but i can't decide which one to get.

i was actually thinking of getting a fender tele custom but does a squier tele custom sound equally good?

and also, would i be better of getting a cheaper end prs like a tremonti SE or any singlecut SE versions.

The best way to find out is to try them out yourself. Different people have different opinions yeah? For example. I dislike the feel of the les paul but like the feel of a strat. So if you ask me "Which one? LP or Strat?" Id say strat, but thats based on a biased opinion aye?

So better is a subjective word. ahaha.,

It would help if you tell us what kinda music you play and your other gear(amps/pedals/what not) so we could give you a more detailed answer?

i like crunchy/distort tones. its along the line of alterbridge, creed, incubus.. etc etc. im afraid of getting a tele cause its very to the "clean" side know what i mean? i've got a pod xt live.

i did try a cij fender tele. not a custom. it was okay? i've also tried a PRS SE tremonti model. i like the prs cause its "feather-like" weight is super sweet.

yeah. for heavier stuffs get the PRS Singlecut SE or Tremonti. Try both see which one you like better yeah? haha

the humbucker is one of a kind size. if you hate it you can't really change it and the humbucker does not really "fit" into your genre.

but then if your heart is set on getting the tele... then yes its gotch humbuckers and terecasters kustom is teh secks!!!

The kind of music you like.... Definitely a PRS SE will be a better choice! You own a Epiphone Goldtop, how do you like the sound? A PRS singlecut would sound less heavy with lesser crunch, more clarity. And of course lesser weight.

I agree on what edder said, a tele is not for you....

my epiphone lp goldtop is awesome. love the tone and the feel.. but the weight on the shoulders really kills. :p

any reviews to the new SE paul allender model? anyone knows if its any good?

There's a review, in this forum.
I've tested the guitar, beats the tremontti one, sounds amazing. Personally, I find the single cut is better looking compared to the tremontti one.

Not to confuse you, but how about an gibson/ epiphone/ esp sg?

Its really light weight. Great for alternative to heavy rock.
Some notable bands that use sg: acdc, wolfmother etc...

If light weight is your thing, You got to try out a parker guitar. Double humbucker with coiltaps, useful for just about anything.

Light weight guitars are my thing too and i have both type of guitars mentioned above heh

i've tried my cousin's epiphone sg G-400 model i think. i thought it sounded similar to a lp? but the thing i didnt like most about sg's are that they are neck heavy. like they tend to droop down.

any idea how much the SE PA is going for at davis?

oh i would. thanks mate. i haven't tried the other SE's yet like the standard SE and the Santana SE. any info on them? the PA SE sure has the killer looks. sound wise im not too sure cause i haven't picked up that guitar myself.
