I currently have the older version GT2 now. I think I would like something different thus am considering the crunchbox or tubezone. Currently when I play at home, I use the california model (Mesa Boogie, I think) but I use the british model (Marshall) for recording.

Generally, I like the old Marshall Plexi tone like the 1959SLP. Out of the 3 pedals, which one would bring me closest to my dream tone?

if the Brit tone is good for you & you prefer buying a pedal instead of a new amp, Carl Martin's Plexi Tone is recommended.

Wow, that looks like just what I need. But it also looks expensive...which store has this and how much is it?

Edit: I just saw the price tag in one of Sub's CM reviews...=D

I think I've made my choice already. Shred, how much cash would you be willing to part with? =D

Hehe. its not me, its for a friend. :)

But I suppose 180 - 220 isn't a bad idea? Depending on condition of course.

the Plexi Tube is as Marshall as it gets LESS the prickly upper frequency. if you value Brit type distortion but can't stand the fuzzy voicing, the PT is one smooooth pedal to own.

the plexitube i tried. it's great but i realise i didnt really like it because as sub said it has less highs. i prefer the highs on such crunch brit units.

try the tonebone classic, u may like it.

sub, do you mean plexi tone of plexi tube? Lol...plexi tube's tonebone's.

tany, hmm...thanks for the suggestion...what are the differences between the classic distortion and the plexi tone? If you do know..

Eh Jackhammer is good stuff for the price.

There's a TON of bass in it, perhaps not very well defined but can be modded lah... it makes little combo amps sound huge and on big stacks, well, just cut the bass on the pedal loh.

I don't like the crunch mode though... yucks.

The old marshall tone eh? Vintagey sounding without that much high gain rite? Zvex Box of Rock, but it depends on the amp you are using it with :D

a realistic Marshall voicing it is not.

eh subbie, I tried it at Davis the other day, the OD mode gave me awesome ACDC poweramp dist kinda tone, a decent marshally voice too !

Cow, by crunch mode you mean the OD or dist mode?
