Hi, can somebody recommend me some Anti-Rusting Strings that actually work? I have tried ernie ball coated and it rusted within 1 day! I have very sweaty hands... I've heared about Elixir PolyWeb , and some DR strings.... Are they any good??? Please let me know thanks. :)

Elixir are probably the standard for coated strings, but you pay for the quality. I've had good experience with GHS Coated Boomers http://www.ghsstrings.com/strings/electric/coated-boomers. For barely more than the price of normal strings, they last a lot longer.

Note that none of these coatings are "anti-rust"... the coating just means they are protected from wear and dirt for longer. http://www.elixirstrings.com/whycoatedstrings/index.html

The type of metal used has a larger part to play in whether it will oxidise/rust, which sometimes is overlooked as people only look at the coating.

Elixirs are the way to go. I prefer the tone of DR Pure Blues (or the Hi-Beams) but only for the first week of stringing them.
But elixirs maintain that 'fresh' sound for a good 2-3 months whereas most other brands tend to die out after 2 weeks maximum.

Thank You So much. Im using GHS Coated at the moment see how long it lasts... Well I'll head over to davis and get a set of elixir strings

I don't think Davis has elixirs.
From what I know you can get them from:
Brendon at BGW Guitars (online, I think storefront coming soon at Newton)
Ranking at Bras Basah

I've used coated strings ever since the beginning and I can proudly say that Elixirs are still my no.1. They last me 3 times more than normal coated strings do, and my palms are REAAAALLY sweaty, as I made a pair of Ernie Ball Slinky's rust in a day after wiping my strings even

You know that you can stop your hands sweat? Try Perspirex, you can buy it fromthe deodorant section in drug stores. Works wonders. Just make sure you follow the instructions in the box.

cleartone strings for me. lasts as long as the strings' tone (which is quite a while)... which is the only thing that actually matters in the end, imo. dont see the point of having pretty, shiny strings that sound dead... and they're easy on the wallet...

All my guitars are strung with Nanoweb elixirs. Can never go wrong with them. Davis do sell elixirs for acoustic guitar but not so sure about electric though.

Guitar Connnection brings in Elixir Nanowebs. For electrics gauge .009 & gauge 0.010. acoustics gauge .011 & gauge .012. I hardly buy new strings cos they hardly rust haha!

Music Theme at Penin/Exsilsor(dunno how spell) Has a Complete range of it! Davis fails at Elixer Strings.
