and the one i find most amp like and MORE than enough gain (i play Progressive, nu metal-Alternative/indy) is
the Goosonique Seventheaven. i have the prototype version, which i like very much and i boost it with a Fulltone OCD ver 3. it works like a charm and completely just my own opinion. its not an easy pedal to tweak i must say and if you like plug and play id say Suhr Riot depending on how much gain u actually need. i also think the Trex Mudhoney coupled with the Moller is also a heck of a combi. the Openhaus is really nice but the voicing may not be for everyone. if youre looking to play at low volumes, or amps with a bright cap in the front, i would not 100%recommend the seventheaven either, however if youre looking to jam/gig/record then hell yeah. it works like a tube amp. the higher the volume you play it? the better bigger and badder it sounds. itll maim and destroy most distortion units. ive found it cuts through great both recording and live. be it a small Tiny/Dual Terror amp set to clean or a Marshall Superlead 100 with 4X12 cabinet, it will work great. tweaking capabilities are ace and hey, the maker is here so customer service no problem. i use it for all the styles i play with mostly a Gibson SG, Angry Angus Jazzmaster and a Tyler Dann Huff... my opinion.
