i read it somewhare on the net..that srv guitar pickups 'accidentally' overwound..aikkss ..my info wrong :???:?

On the net got ppl say it's overwound. Then on the net again, some ppl say it's not. All internet say one, so who is right leh?

There was an interview done by Guitar Player magazine some year back with Rene Martinez , SRV guitar tech. He said that SRV's original 59 pick ups were accidently overwound but thathe like the tone and kept it. In those days I guess the winding methods were not so choon as today.

The fretboard radius evolved from a 7 1/4 to a 12 due to the sanding proess after the numerous refrets he did on it.

My current SRV project - body about 80% done ...need to stain some of the areas to match the "dark wood" on the real no.1. Then wwill add the custom sticker to it.
