Hi sorties,

I'm intending to fix my rg with a duncan sh1 59 on the neck and screamin demon on bridge. Anyone tried this before? If yes, do tell me if it works well on a tremolo rg.

You'd need to give more information.

E.g a reference recording that you like and we can then do a comparison.
Also, a way to know if it will truely work is if you buy and try.

yes Excalibur i had a screamin deamon for a good period of time on my guitar. The Screamin deamon is not really your average bridge high output pickup which gives you alot of trebles and a cutting sound.

Instead, as you might have read on the duncan website it has more growl to it. which basically means its bassier than most bridge pickups.

Great for rock and roll..

hey, thanks for the input guys. I need a pup that's pretty versatile as i play genres, from mainstream rock, power metal and a little bit of blues and jazz. Thus i thought the sh1-59 and screamin demon would compliement each other well. Technique wise, I'm very into natural and pinch harmonics.

A bit concerned whether the screamin demon will serve well for power metal though. Hey gibby does the screamin have a relatively long sustain?

Do tweak with your pedals & amps before deciding on changing pickups. thats my advice for you.

Screamin Demon is NOT a high output pickup, if you believe otherwise, you've been deceived by the name 8-)

some stuff here: The Guitar Addict!: Ibanez: RG1550 (disct'd)

well.. a pup is just like a microphone. so you should be asking can the singer(your guitar )sustain a long note?

yes like what suber has said, tweak your pedals and amp 1st. and btw what guitar are u using?

ya i agree as well on tweak ur amp and effects ...
anyway, im using screaming deamon and hotrails on my frankenstrat...but i intend to swap the demon for a jb or full shred next string change ...

the screaming demon even though is not a high output pus...it certainly can do up to metal and more ...

for rg`s basswood body, i recommend jb or full shred for that extra bite..
yes the screaming demon are bassier as mention by gibbytones.

if there is a need for some high output with a pronounced bass (but nothing too excessive), the Custom is recommended. for a balanced EQ response + high output, the Distortion is preferred.

Well. A pup can add compression, just like some mics do.

Which means that while you don't increase your sustain (i.e. strings don't vibrate longer), you do get notes that are more compressed - the volume of your notes stay consistently louder, longer.

So if you like that compressed vibe - then getting a hotter pup would be better.
