Yup, looks damn shiok lah... Altho the neck looks funny, but im curious to find out how it sounds, esp with the humbuckers... is it a regulr tele sound, or a dif animal with the humbuckers?

Just nice! One more tele to add to this page in the gallery. My Tom Anderson hollow T

The very unexpected purchase. I always wanted a tom anderson and almost bought a super strat style classic a few months back. My first anderson and it came in the form of a tele. But after having it for a few days to try with my set up before deciding to make the purchase, the tele was everything i felt an anderson would be.

The pickups are tom anderson TL-1 and TD3.

If i am not wrong these are actually stacked single coils, but split amazingly well, cant even tell its not a single. It comes with a 5 way switch.

Position 1 and 5 are the single coil modes of the neck and bridge respectively.

2,3 and 4 positions are the noiseless positions.

Bro, from this purchase.....i can see you're just a mere mortal. Temptations and lust, i give u another 2 months.........

I've dealt with a 70's telecaster like that one before in the shop. looks really nice but the only thing that gets me so frustrated is removing the pickguard to change the electronics. you could say its super ley chey.

thats why we techs here have electric screwdrivers.

brandon, so you bought it! I can totally understand why you got it. When I tried it, it had the sweetest tele sounds I had ever heard. I just couldn't see myself parting with that amt of cash. It's just so light and resonant, and refined. Almost the perfect studio recording guitar for sure. congrats bro!

Hey man,

I am selling one of my guitars for it , thats the only way i can afford it. I would whole heartedly agree its the perfect studio recording guitar. When i first tried it for the first few days, i was impressed with the sheer convincing and versatile tones from the guitar.

But what blew me away was how it sounded in a recording situation. It sat perfect in the mix without extra eq-ing or effects. I only need to change the pickups to get a diff sound. Alot of clarity, sustain and reacts well to what ever dynamic changes your hand does. Now i totally understand why anderson pickups are voiced the way they are.

Hmm.

My latest Mongrel Strat:

consists of:

grover locking tuners
Squier neck 22 frets changed to Fender logo
1 Dimarzio PAF
Samick body (very old)
stock samick bridge, output jack
LP-style knobs
black SSH single-ply pickguard

It's got a very nice clean sound and surprisingly twangy for a humbucker in the bridge position.

chanmin you might have tried it before, along with the suhr/tylers there. =)

brandon, I might have to sell one of mine soon too...something else is creeping over me...

Hey chan,

I bought this guitar from fellow forum member Mercurial who is also selling his Don Grosh strat.

Kenneth, give us some hints on ur next purchase. Buy a tele also la, how about a James Trussart Steel tele caster.

Danelectrico/ Avidaxis:

it would be more sensible to avoid comparing a Fender product to a Squier, i must say that the Tele Custom here has no Fender sentimentalities for those of you who wish to get round the brand name association on a budget...

i have no regrets getting this guitar as the craftsmanship is top notch, coming from a country more renowned for its Bali holiday get away. as affirmed by Herman Li in his Ibanez clinic, it seems that the Indonesian make (Ibanez or otherwise) displays an above average build but snobs would continue to look west in this light.

i would be replacing the default humbuckers soon as these are not quite gain/ drive-friendly despite being very receptive to all manner of distortion. the neck cleans are very respectable. more revelations in an upcoming review (doing my Ibanez RG8 in the mean time...) 8)
