nice les pauls there subversion..mine's pretty plain colours, but they do the job well..

he he thanks.

correction: Les Paul. not Les Pauls... i only own ONE Les Paul, if it isn't a Gibson, i wouldn't refer to it as a Les Paul.

i'm definitely for solid finishes, i would have gotten a solid finished LP if they had one to my liking but as fate would have it, none available. as for the ESP, i acquired that not because of the visually captivating flame top, it's the satin finish that i was after.

my latest acquisition.
Shadow electric, made in Germany.
Schaller tuners and trem, dual Shadow EQ-5 active pickups.
the trem knife edges are in very good condition.
the tuners say Made in W. Germany, so thats how old it is.
i have some work to do on it to bring it up to playable condition, but nothing hard.

of cos, once in awhile some good deals come in.

recently a Gibson LP standard sold for under $1400, according to someone working there.

Everdying, just in case.

Regarding the schaller floyd rose.

Be very careful when intontating it. The base plate is not hardened (or is it cast?) steel, so your intonation screws holding the saddles to the baseplate, CAN STRIP the baseplate's screw holes.

If that happens... well... your trem is pretty much gone... intonation off wack.

Be careful. Don't over do anytightening.

Note: Some schaller floyds have STEEL inserts in the intonation screw holes of the baseplate. Those are hardier.

actually i had that prob on a schaller on an old 80s charvel superstrat i once had.
i got a tech friend to place a piece of brass under the saddle where the holes are, and drill new holes on the brass piece and used new longer intonation screws.
how i got that idea was cos i saw lots of brass pieces lying in his shop that he used for making custom nuts and saddles :P

yes, the brass fits nicely, roughly a 1.5 - 2mm thick piece.
and it didnt affect pull up or diving at all.

EDIT.
well i just took apart the whole floyd cos the saddle heights and placement were all messed up.
placed them back in a rough intonated lineup, and safe to say no striped holes.

I like that PB! Handy and takes pedals like sponge, only gripe is the restrictive impedance output...then again it's good enough for such a small package
