shred, is the alnico redline a custom option with or without extra charge?

An Alnico Redline would be a custom. :P

The alnico pup that is similiar to the Redline is the Helix, 10k Alnico.

sounds like a good idea. my rg is a mahogany body too, the viper works well in there.

hope it works out for you too dude. :)

possibly my mahogony setneck schecter.

Personally, 16k might be too much for me, in a mahogany body. I find 15k the highest I will want to go.

The higher the DC, the fatter the tone, something you don't need in something like a Les Paul (unless you want it lah), also the tone gets more compressed and you loose the guitar's character: it becomes more pup less guitar.

But of course, if its metal, who wants measly 9k vintage hums?!?!?!?!?!

all the HAS-Sound discussion here & there.. omg.. tempted, but no guitars to fit them in anymore. maybe til i get a new les paul then consider..

ARGH!! TEMPTATIONS ARE STRONG *hears voices in my head*

Aye. HAS is good stuff.

I'm waiting for Malcolm to install his set of HAS Karma single coils. That's something for the vintage tone crowd!
