finger infection!!! wtf!!

arghh!!! There seems to be pus growing inside my right ring finger, at the side of the fingernail!! Two days ago it started hurting, but now it hurts damn alot and i finally get to see yellow thing inside the skin!! Argghh!!!Anyone had such experiences?? what to do now? I think reason being my guitar string too rusty and somehow i got infected...
Haha just used a needle to pock it, and its disgusting!!...wondering anyone had such experiences before?

i had the same problem!! but mine was caused by accidentally cutting the nail too short and the nail ingrowing.. it started to redden like hell and pus started coming out too.

it was on my fretting hand's pinky. anyway it'll go away pretty fast lah.. not to worry.

u're lucky its not on ur fretting hand. for the period of time i had that problem i was practising my slide guitar.

it happened once for mi.. late last year.. took at least a week to heal.
at first i thought i was playing too hard..
than i realise its swollen..
until the 2nd day, i decided to see a doctor, told me i have an infection..
he poke the thing.. had to bare without playing my guitar for 5 days until i feel that its completely healed..
but lesson learned.. always change the string after a long period of play time..
saving money on strings = more money on medical bills if not careful..

ops just realized how blur i am....correction---> i mean my LEFT hand not right hand..lol!!! Paiseh...
yar its my fretting hand..i was doing lots of bending..lol
Anyway i got the pus out but morning wake up, it grew again..but now pretty much better, not as pain

learn how to play slide guitar. maybe thats not ur thing but if u really cant play due to the pain, then why not make us of the time to learn something new. the slide is most often worn on the ring finger anyway..

haha okay la the swelling has stopped. I made sure every bit pf pus is squeezed out..haha do it like what u do to your pimples..so yea i just rest for few days lor or maybe just play a little bit..haha
Oh and i changed the strings too =)

I get that shit all the time, AND I'M THE DUDE WITH THE RUSTY GUITAR, but I'm tetanus immune. Either way, if it doesnt go away in 2 days, see a doctor. No shit.

Probably blood poisoning, but it could also be a bacterial infection. Seriously, go see a doctor. If you leave it that way, you might end up losing your finger since it sounds pretty bad. They'll prescribe you anti-biotics and certain ointments and creams. And try not to 'pock' it on your own because the needle probably has microbes on it, and they could worsen the situation.

Never had it on my finger before, but I had it on my toe and it lasted a good year. It started when it got crushed by a wooden plank falling on it. And I didn't go to the doctor. It got infected, and I was unable to play badminton for a very long time. But at the time it happened, I wasn't a microbiology student yet. :mrgreen: Don't make the mistake I made...
