Fender Highway1 series- would you buy one?

bought a strat today. shared it with a guy who wanted to buy a bass, in the end he paid 900 for the bass i paid 750 for the strat. collecting it tomorrow when the new stock arrives!

the Highway1 sales were brisk but there were some hesitant would-be buyers prowling around feeling very undecided.

blue t-shirt, short and sleepers ...
the good look to buy a nice guitar ...
I saw a lot of very good deals as well like a telecaster custom sky blue metal for 2000 + instead of 3100 sgd ...
a telecaster Am Std for 1300 !!! i bought mine 2000 last year in the same shop ...
i dun know how do they do to have such discounts !!

oh... we were there after 2pm...

frankly, i only find the Mex models/ Highway1 to be the real steal of the sale. the American Series/ other American models did not reflect a true sale price tag...

another thing: 'American Standard' is discontinued, this term is mistakenly used to refer to the 'American Series'...

hey subversion i think i saw you there....trying out the strats with the peavey XXL amp for quite some time right?

i got to know Jem007 that day...so i suppose the other 2 ppl "loitering" in the shop were u and ur friend. just got the H1 tele today.....3 tone sunburst with rosewood fretboard and i've gotta say it feels and sounds good. def worth the dough that i forked out for......i think not much stock left btw, so hurry if you peeps really want to get 1

of course there is- the Highway1 Jazz bass is paired up with the P-bass for $1,650.

the US Jazz basses are also discounted but not as much as the highway1...

Actually you can mix guitar and bass as well:
1 guitar + 1 bass (e.g. 1 tele + j bass or 1 tele + 1 p bass or 1 strat + 1 j bass or 1 strat + 1 p bass) for 1600 SGD if i'm not mistaken ...
The pair 1 p bass + 1 j bass is 1800 SGD ...

Yesterday, jamming session with my brand new strat teal green transparent ... Pure joy and happiness ... Just need to get used to it ...

I went there on sunday, i bought a strat and one of the sales guys (the one with a lot of tatoos) told me that it was possible to mix bass and guitar ...
After that you are free to believe what you feel is right ...

in a twist of events (yet again), the sale allowed a guitar + bass combo but the final pricing would conform to the bass sale price, that is: guitar + bass = $1,650

when i was there last Sunday with gargamelesp, he jumped on this opportuniy after waiting for quite some time for a tele buyer to share this offer with him but to no avail. one jazz bass buyer even agreed to absorb more of the 50-50 portion so both buyers left the store triumphant... if you don't mind paying a little more to get the guitar, then this deal would still be a steal IMO.

if you can't get a guitar-guitar partnership, i suggest you hang out @ the store & wait for a bass interest to pop-up then have a go at the deal 8)
