seriosully tihnking off if swee lee's price is so exoribant... u tihnk if we order a couple of guitars together from ishibashi , say bout 5 pcs in total ( combined orders from people who wanna buy stuff from ishibashi) do you tihnk we can get it cheaper ? i hear ishibashi has insane shipping rates though ... near 400 SGD

if price is reasonable then count me in man~!~! :D

but the subx02 price is around $1.8k without shipping, wouldnt the price be similar like stingray? i heard that stingray cost around 2.5-3k

yeah, i check out the webbie, cost around 152k yen,1 yen is around s$0.015 ,like that might as well buy stingray, davis can take in stingray ah? rotten, u noe the price?roughly la =)

swish ! tts ex... but i must admit ... i heard its tone ... very nice ... like funk music tt kinda tone but not growly like P-bass yet has the treble jazzy inclinations ... nice

wow, thats relatively cheap, for good bass like musicman i mean =) thanks subby, u are really helpful dude, btw sub,do you know the major diff between sub n stingray? are they similar in term of sound?as in the sub active with stingray
one more question, i saw the subX02 in ishibashi, they said that the body is made from hardwoods, but from the musicman official site, they stated that poplar is the material for sub, which one is true sia? or poplar=hardwoods?

the SUB passive is a steal for under $1K, compared to the Fender Highway1 P/ J bass (passive) which lists for $1,420...

'hardwood' is a polite term to use when the dealer has no knowledge of the wood type. some manufacturers also refer to salvaged, left over woods form other industries as 'hardwood'.

the Sting Ray & SUB are worlds apart, the resemblance are in mere looks. the SUB is much lighter compared to the Sting Ray due to the different body wood. the SUB has a non-lacquer finish which IMO makes it more resonant & a little brighter. many peolpe who auditioned the SUB walked away disappointed because it sounds different from the Sting Ray, others were happy because it offers something different, a unique Ernie Ball tone so to speak. the SUB bass IMO, is a worthy investment...

poplar is a light but toneful wood to work with. lighter bodies let your pickups breathe through. on tour, Steve Morse plays a Floyd-Rose equipped model which has a very light body- poplar....

where u hear it dude? davis? i also want to hear the tone before deciding to buy it =)

btw thanks subby, its true that sub n stingray look the same, haha, but i need to check out on their tone as well

..

if you check around the ernieball forums, its said that the active sub bass has the same electronics as the 2 eq stingray. so its quite a good buy.

davis will let me meh? i think he's the 1 that will audition the bass instead of me,hahaha, i think i must bring like 400bucks and show it to him, then i can try his bass

mexican fender standard jazz bass V string

from my knowledge, and friends of mine who are fender lovers, it's best to chose fender guitars made in America..followed by mexico and then japan.
if you looked at soft's classified ads, i placed an ad selling my 5 string fender jazz bass(mexico).if you are interested that is...good luck searching for basses anyway!

..

mex fenders built from 2000 onwards are of better quality, almost on par with the usa ones. i think you can find the photo tour of the mexican factory (which is not too far from the us factory in corona) on the www.allthingsguitar.com website.

but i would prefer a musicman bass anyday. personal preference :)
