Favorite all time bassline!

just to name two

fugazi - repeater
the drum and the bass are one. sounds so tribal and primitive

jaco pastorius - donna lee
i love the triplets

tool - aenema
i just like it

Anything Jamiroquai.

George Benson - Lady Love Me (One More Time)

Since this is about bass players, who else hates Ben Kenney?
No offence.

i think jamiroquai's space cowboy is groove-assed
hurmmm.. stefan lessard's line in "stay"

and with regards to ben kenney.. well, i think he's done alot in achieving incubus's new sound -)

repetitive progressive and funky house basslines get to me as well

and old led zep

wot does this teach us? you can't say "no" to the funky assed low!

that thing you do.

really.. it's just groovy.

and the one that gets me is crossroads by cream.

go have a listen. esp during that solo

Ben Kenney is probably going with the band's new direction. For long-time fans of Incubus, his approach = not so desirable.

New bassline of this week: John Mayer's No Such Thing.

New bassline of the following week: Jamiroquai's Love Foolosophy.
:p

Abt Ben Kenney

Its just that I bought Incubus Alive at Red Rocks, and thought it was going to be a fun concert, but turns out, Ben Kenney is like soloing almost all the way! I can't even enjoy the music... just too difficult. No doubt he has chosen great notes and stuff, but definitely not all the way la.. i feel sick.. no offense again man..

:D

Eh... I know Radiohead's 'National Anthem''s bassline is only 2 notes. But it's pretty killer for just 2 notes... If you know the song, you can definitely remember the bassline...

What inspired me to pick up the bass guitar was the bassline from No Doubt's "Sunday Morning". Listened to a lot of ska then.

Another great bassline I like alot is RHCP's "Aeroplane"
