Well... Epiphone Indonesisa does sell quite a number of models such as the Epiphone Les Paul Special II, Standard, Custom, Wildkat and etc. But for the pricing is much cheaper compared to the China ones...
In 1992, Samick built its P.T. Samick factory in
Cilesungi, near Bogor, Indonesia. So basically, it's wood and labour are by the Indonesian; while the machines and quality control are done by the Koreans (as Samick is a Korean-based musical instrument manufacturer, one of the largest in the world.) But, I've only tried so far only two Indonesian-made Les Pauls which are the Epiphone Les Paul Special II and Standard Plus Top... But, so far it's not so bad... the build is quite good and the paint job is also quite excellent except for some very minor flaws... But, so far it's good and very affordable...
Anyway, I'll get my
Epiphone Les Paul Custom on Tuesday from lucky (which is made in Indonesia; Samick factory) and I'll maybe give you guys a review or maybe more of a personal account of the guitar... But, I'll start a thread on it soon
