ESP, Edwards & LTD Appreciation Thread

really nice one, junkiemanxl. love the awesome gold-ness of it. was there a pickguard there? haha spot the missing screw:) did you bring it in? or is it second hand?

Thx
Yeah there supposed to be a pickguard there. removed it at the request of my wife. She's likes it pickguardless.

I got this from a nice dude on soft.
It's used

Edwards E-LP-92SD Goldtop

That should be sweet! Can't see pics in office. P90s? or humbuckers? Lp92... should be hums yeah?

Lets AB it against my goldtop? Would like to see a side by side comparison between a Gibson goldtop and an Edwards goldtop. I bet the edwards is better made... heh...

bro whitestrat, yeah they are the humbucker ver. cannot compare in terms of make lah. I'm pretty sure your gibson gt is better made. A lot of people rave abt the excellent make of the edwards and how it pawns gibson. Not true la. A gibby will always be a gibby. Cant take tat away from a gibby. Only thing in good comparison is the price difference. Hehe :)

Aiyah... dun AB, will never know. You'll be surprised. I've never failed to be impressed by how well an Edwards is built, and the sad realisation that the only reason for that high price of a Gibson is in it's name. (Though the main reason I bought mine was because of the Slash neck profile...) Especially if your Edwards is solid bodied, and yet light, like the LP-98 that I used to have which is now with Jony.

I regretted never giving the Edwards enough time to bond with me, and I wish I kept it, being one of the nicer LP clones I've ever tried. (it actually had some killer woody tone!)

I know one thing for sure... My gibby weighs much more than your Edwards! hahahaha...

I mainly bought the Gibby just to own a Gibby. Like how I'm now looking for THE PRS for me... (The DGT Gold Top is ringing my bells!). Shoulda kept the Edwards as a gigging guitar. hahahaa...

whitestrat,

A/B sounds fun too as long as its not too time consuming.

Yeah... Lets do this. I'm sure Edwards users here would be pretty please to know about it, even though another review like that had been done previously on the Les Paul Forum with favourable results to the Edwards (It was compared against a standard, and a historic)

nothing special. Here's mine ltd v-200. Change the stock bridge to emg 89 n beside it is my sons little v. Hehehe

2009 Xmas Gear Update~

hmmm... It's sad to see this thread sunk until bottom of the sea.....
Does it mean everyone switching their passion to others?

This is my latest gear, another discontinued model from original series, MV-220. (a.k.a. Maverick)
Nothing fancy in its look, just standard black color.
However, it has plenty of fun factors for me bcoz this is my 1st maple fretboard and medium scale (628mm or 24.75") guitar.

1 piece maple neck and alder body + SD Hotrail & JB = Bright and Punchy!

THAT is cool!!!! Is the neck wafer thin?

The neck thickness is not as thin as Ibanez guitars, but still very comfortable to play with.
It feel more like C profile rather than U profile which mentioned in the spec.

BTW, this is a japan domestic model. The Neck is slightly smaller compare to export standard models.
