Garcia and Kewell are definitely two of our most important players.. They are flair players who try things out of the ordinary and actually give more chances for the strikers to score. They also contribute with a fair number of goals.

Kewell finally has a chance to have a full pre-season. And this season will be crucial for him, he still has it, class doesn't just disappear. Even when he was coming back from injury it was apparant he's a great winger and he's the best winger at our club currently. He runs at defenders and puts great crosses in. And what about that volley against Charlton that went off the crossbar? I don't think I've even seen Riise hit it that hard...

Taking Garcia and Kewell out is like taking Giggs and Ronaldo out of Man Utd..

The midfield has to score goals. Rooney has 23 goals, but 14 in the league, about the same as Kuyt, who has 12 goals in the league. The difference was Ronaldo having a great season and banging in the goals and look where that got them. Giggs got 6 goals all season while Pennant has had 1.

How can Luis Garcia and Harry Kiwi be compared to Ryan Giggs and Crissy Ronaldo? If you said Gerrard, it might be more of a comparison but Garcia and Kiwi? No way!

Try taking your flair players out then.

Gerrard? You're having a laugh. He's been voted the fans' player of the season and I think thats a load of shit.

Pennant oh pennant. Crossing practice, shooting practice, -AND- going to school to build up some intelligence... well, hopefully.

Looking at pennant is just like looking at a youngster with potential to grow... just that he's not getting any younger right now. Hope fully there's more to him still!

If kewell played like he did against Charlton for the whole of next season, I'd say we pretty much have our left side covered!

For the most part of this season in 2007, you know there are matches when you just yearned Rafa would call the subs and put out Luis Garcia... like when everton and man city decided 0-0 is fantastic.

Garcia has lots of flair, but he's not suitable for the physical nature of the premiership. That's my honest opinion of him. He loses the ball too easily at times. How many times have we watched him tried to 'gelek' his way through only to be nudged out of the way by a physically stronger player? But of course, sometimes, he does come up with wonders too. But he's no midfield maestro.

Having said all that, I still like both of them. Ideally, Kewell would get back to his level best and terrorize defenders down that left flank the whole of next season. And Garcia would add some flair to the midfield and conjure up magical goals as well, although I just cannot see Rafa making him a permanent feature of the first eleven.

Now that's the ideal situation. For now, we need better and stronger reinforcements.

Heck, it doesn't matter what happens from now to next season la, if we just end up lifting the premiership trophy. Koppites would agree with me I'm sure. A hell of a long wait of 17 years!

"If you're struggling in a game you can either do two things, send your centre back up front as a centre forward or use Luis Garcia between the lines."

Is why I think Garcia is important, because he always pops up with the most crucial goals! Magic player, but equally frustrating, but thats why I love him really.

Yes, 17 years.. @#$@#ing hell.. Next season then!

pennant is good lah. you see, if england didn't have so many black right wingers, pennant will confirm get the nod.

i mean, there's SWP and aaron lennon who are also in contention. there can't be three brothers playing the same position, the white man won't have it. that's why england has to put up with mediocrity until david bentley comes into age. it doesn't help that pennant has a criminal record, and a crazy afro.

more seriously speaking, alot of people have rightly criticised liverpool for lacking the finishing touch. this is where garcia comes to mind and is greatly missed. crazy lobs against arsenal and juve, insane edge of the box headers, if that isn't world class finishing i don't know what is.

it's just that his passing sucks, he tackles as well as paul scholes and his work rate isn't phenomenal either. but sometimes you have to endure 89 minutes of garcia rubbish for that masterclass finish.

why does rafa why sign unproven epl players as in today's newpaper report?

he never learns his lesson!

get some good players rafa, get some

Hmm.

Hey man, not unlike a certain Mr Wenger and before him a certain Sir Alex Ferguson, perhaps Rafa is learning to start an investment in younger players.
