Newpaper: Rafa is planing wholesale of players (GREAT ANFIELD SALE) .. after the Athen debacle.

Wah paing eh - no loyalty to longer service players?

i don't quite understand why mark gonzalez is being allowed to leave. he still hasn't settled in england yet and he's only into his first few seasons.

a shame really, cos he has all the potential. you only need to see what he had been doing in la liga before he came to liverpool.

as for zenden, he has overstayed his welcome. haha

I dunno about Zenden, he's the "glue" for the players in the dressing room, and has never performed anything below average when he's in the team (although he hasn't performed above average too.). He's been brought in as backup, and he has done his job. So if he does leave, YNWA Boudewijn!

Im slightly confused at allowing Speedy to go too, I felt that another season would do him tons of good. And you'd think we'd keep him after that Work Permit situation. Maybe its something about his determination that Rafa doesn't like, after all he did come out I think about a week ago with a very negative outlook on his future at Anfield. Seeya Speedy! Thanks for the goal against Haifa!

Aston Villa rumoured to be looking at Bellamy, I wouldn't mind him going if we brought in one of Eto'o or Tevez.

Rafa's looking to clear out the deadwood more than any of the long-serving players. I think he'll look to get someone to challenge Finnan and, more importantly, Riise (who's been piss poor this season). He's already got Lucas in to challenge the other four. Voronin has been brought in to challenge Garcia and possibly the other strikers too. Future's looking bright if Rafa has his way with the transfer market.

Can't wait for the next season.

yeah, can't wait for next season.

and i can't wait for rafa to bring in some world class players. players that will make us pool fans just salivating at the thought of it. david villa, eto'o, simao, alves, etc.

but my concern is no matter how established or world class the person is, i fear if he turns out to be a big time flop if he's not able to settle down quickly in england. i'm sure we don't want to see another shevchenko in the league. i rather get someone proven, tried and tested in epl, like berbatov.

I think its saying we've signed these 2 youngsters.. Krisztian Nemeth and Simon Andras.. Or maybe not..

kuyt is hardworking and selfless. works very hard for the team. but he's not a good finisher. need someone who can bang in 20 goals a season. would make a hell of a difference for liverpool.

What we need is for the midfield to score more, Stevie hasn't scored as many as he would have liked, the wingers haven't scored much at all, an really should be putting in more assists. Pennant has only scored 1 goal and has only had 6 assists this season.

Not really about the 20 goal a season striker, we have Crouch who has scored 18, and Kuyt with 14.. If the midfield doesn't contribute more, we need more like a 30 goal a season striker.

Have Kewell and Garcia fit for a whole season, now that's what would make a hell of a difference for Liverpool.

seriously, none of our strikers are clinical enough. can't be putting expectations on midfield to score more when it's the strikers' job to do so. although, yeah, we could afford to have the midfield to contribute more. that would help a lot definitely.

as for gerrard, i don't think he can be expected to replicate the form in the previous season where he was liverpool's top scorer. that just shows how weak we are up front from last season.

true, crouch has scored 18, but he has been missing many bread and butter chances, ie, headers right in front of goals. i like kuyt. he works hard. if only his goals scored is proportional to the amount of effort he puts in. the only natural finisher we have is robbie fowler, who is leaving in the summer. we only need to take a look at the top 7 scorers in the epl. none are reds.

i don't think kewell and garcia would make a hell of a difference in a season. they have erratic forms. and as much as i wish to see kewell perform his magic like he used to at leeds, i just don't see it happening anytime soon or even ever.
