casino is P-90 pickups...I'm not a big fan of P-90s...hehe
anyway...all three...DOT sheraton and casino have the same bodies...jus the different setups and hardware...still prefer the DOT...but...i need much more convincin and maybe another test run...

a good DOT alternative you should consider (sounds very decent with drive):

that's a Ibanez isn't it...hmmm..not a big fan of it...
ibanez dun really focus on them..so they aren't tt good...

yeah i tried the Ibanez AS73 and i really liked it.

I used to want the Dot but after trying the Ibanez i was won over by it's tone.

that's rather dismissive. if Ibanez don't give a hoot about the artcore models, they wouldn't raise the standard & come up with the Custom version:

of course, i'm not swaying you to the Ibanez camp. you put your money where it's right for you.

Tim Armstrong of Rancid used a Gibby 335 I think. When you counter in the amp, distortion pedal and of course, fingers, the Dot would certainly work fine for a punk/grunge etc. soundy.

dude, if i was ever in the market now for a 335'ish guitar, it'll be the artcore series. never look down on the artcores. they're GREAT guitars for the amount of $$$ paid. I have the out of shape Talman and it is just as good.

during those days(early 90's) where 335'ish guitars were so hard to get, i had to settle for a washburn hb30 and thank goodness, its one helluva great guitar.

had a joe pass before.

not that i can play jazz or anything but it came my way and we parted ways.

nice but the finishing could be much much better.

can't really compare the joepass (full bodied, full hollow) to a dot (semi hollow, thin body)

never touched at big body artcore before so no comments lah.

quite true...maybe im jus less of an ibanez fan...tt's why i may look down on them...haha...i did consider the ibanez though...i just prefer the DOT...the DOT has that enchantment that the ibanez doesn't have...well...tt's my excuse..haha
