EPIPHONE CLUB

i think most definitely talking about epi. gib lp customs are.

WAY up there. but somehow i think the lawsuit guitars are up to par, if not exceeds the standard though.

Epi's are very hit and miss. Most misses. Best play many and decide. Friend has a white LP Custom Epi. The older non japan epis usually have a alder mahogany sandwich body so they tend to have a different sound.

imo, i think if you excpect alot from an epi, go for the higher range, i dont mean the elitist as yet.

more of the customs, deluxe's those with gold hardware tend to be more hits.

not necessarily. Most of the epi korean are abt the same. Only ones tt are pretty good are the old japanese ones and the elitist models now.

But for 600 plus bucks i don't think you can expect too much.

Okay, here's a picture of my Epi finally! My LP standard in the "limelight" :P

Hmm.

In all honesty, the only thing apart from the price that turns me off from the elitist range... is the damn headstock design. Why would a guitar company want to spoil the look of their guitar by having a headstock with a pregnant silhouette?

The "bevelled open book" look IMO looks more decent.

But other than that, the finishing appears o be very close to what a Gibson looks like. Sound wise not too sure.

ive heard sound wise, its decent but needs some work. but build quality is of a very very high standard, some aprently even are better than a gibson.

hints of gibson's complacency perhaps?

Hmm.

The thing is.. personally I have not much complaints for my G-400, all you need is a decent clean amp, a nice OD and an EQ pedal and you're ready to rock.

After all, I've managed to live with that same guitar, unmodified for close to 2 years already.

ah cool, i was thinking of getting one, but the red one isnt around anymore, any comments about the tobacco burst deluxe version?

Hmm.

Unless I'm much mistaken, the Cherry Red one and the tobacco burst G-400 are pretty much the same thing, just different finish.

But I'm a sucker for red guitars. :P

Hey, anyone knows if my LP Standard's pickup cover can be used for a SD Duncan Distortion pickup?
Since the stock pickups are wax-potted, should I then wax-pot the duncans??
Or could I do without it.. Will it squeal alot??

Please help! :D

hmm the 59s are by any rate. i might be mistaken.

you could prolly do without it. My JB seems to be doing fine.
