Epi's are very hit and miss. Most misses. Best play many and decide. Friend has a white LP Custom Epi. The older non japan epis usually have a alder mahogany sandwich body so they tend to have a different sound.
In all honesty, the only thing apart from the price that turns me off from the elitist range... is the damn headstock design. Why would a guitar company want to spoil the look of their guitar by having a headstock with a pregnant silhouette?
The "bevelled open book" look IMO looks more decent.
But other than that, the finishing appears o be very close to what a Gibson looks like. Sound wise not too sure.
The thing is.. personally I have not much complaints for my G-400, all you need is a decent clean amp, a nice OD and an EQ pedal and you're ready to rock.
After all, I've managed to live with that same guitar, unmodified for close to 2 years already.
Hey, anyone knows if my LP Standard's pickup cover can be used for a SD Duncan Distortion pickup?
Since the stock pickups are wax-potted, should I then wax-pot the duncans??
Or could I do without it.. Will it squeal alot??
