EPIPHONE CLUB

Hi Guys, I'm going to buy an Epiphone Les Paul Custom Guitar in Guitar 77. But is the guitar good? what type of pickup should I change iy to?

Ya. I emailed them but they said they don't have stocks currently but the new shipment will arrive soon. But is the guitar good?

1) Do you hear/find any problem/dislike/lacking in the epiphone stock pickup?

2) Is there any particular character of pickup that you have in mind, but unable to find/hear in the stock epi pickup?

heh, if you answer to the above 2 is no, but having the budget to change the pickup, i say just go ahead and indugle.

brands from seymour duncan, dimarzio, emg are the usual brand people use for replacement in epi.

my sg. long gone.

blackkunji, if you dont know what to choose, you dont need to change it.

you got to know what you want, the sound you want, characteristics you want. how it sound driven and clean. how it pairs with your wood. and how it matches your playing style.

figure that out, then start researching more about pickups, theres plenty around to choose from.

in the beginning it was MIJ orville,

then it became MIJ epiphone

then it became MIK epiphone

then now. made in china epiphone.

and if that was confusing. its made in that huge country which floods every year.

i got something like noisy when i tried to check the place of make of an epi les paul i had some time back at guitardaterproject. so i went to swee lee n compared the feel to some mik epi les pauls n then mic epi les pauls. the feel felt closer to a mik one so when i sold i said it's mik-but-no-proof hehe.

maybe during that time production has moved to china but has not ended in korea. just comapre the feel, like what i did lol.
