Hi does anyone know where to get the creative EMU 1212m PCI soundcard in singapore. the singapore branch dosent seem like it carries it (ironically, since creative is singaporean :S) and the only units i can find on sale seem to be online from the US!

ohh..you can go to the Creative HQ located at Jurong East. Over there, they sells almost all E-MU models/products. They even have a section for you to demo some E-MU product. But I remembered that you have got to fix appointment for demo-ing. Other than that, the HQ is open as per-norm office hour.

Apart frm from that, I also remember there is one shop in Sim Lim Square selling them. But I guess they don't display it on the shelf, it's only on their flyer. I'm not sure whether they still retail them now, coz that was quite some years back when I saw it. Anyway, I forgot the shop name and address. Haha.

Cheers!

P.S. remember to get the "m" model (1212m) if you want the built-in digidesign D/A A/D converters.

Oh ok thanks! I just called them today though. they said that the EMU line has stopped retailing :S not only in Singapore i think.....and i was pretty set on having this particular sound card :(

Does any one think its advisable to ship in from the US though, i think some of the online stores have a few units left and at a competitive price too! If not i have to look at some PCI cards from Maudio since RME and MOTU since out of my budget range of below 300... any recommendations>

Don't forget about Echo. Probably one of the best for the price. Excellent drivers. Very low latency.

HAHA oops :S i am not very familiar with that brand though. was just checking out their website... the MIAMIDI looks fits quite well into my budget and all...
any recommendations? haha. i am basically looking for a midi in midi out (for a korg m3) and something to connect my mic preamp (ART TUBE MP) to. budget below 300 :)
does anyone know where to get them in singapore though?

Echo's distributor is Swizer. You can find their contact in the Echo site. Miamidi is getting old, but still very useful. If you are willing to increase your budget slightly, Gina3G may be a good choice.

I've been using Echo for years. No complains. There are quite a few SOFTies here using Echo as well.
