Anybody have any experience using this? I know edder has but he's never posted any comments on it. Yea, i'm thinking of getting one because my TS-9 > Metal Muff setup is quite noisy.

I think it does the job, if you don mind having a separate adapter for it cos it runs on VAC and not 9VDC.

the idea behind is nice, but what most seem to miss, is that, what/wheres the origin of the hum and can it be eliminated thru means other than adding additional thing in the chain to get rid of it.

heh, we like to do addition to achieve subtraction

when i run just the metal muff there is practically no hum, only with the addition of the tubescreamer then the hum is there.

this is absolutely expected- with a cascading line-up, the increased gain would induce background hissing.

Andy Timmons does this neat trick when he uses his Tubescreamer- he activates it during play (not before) & does likewise just prior to finishing his tune (not after) so that the induced hissing is masked off.

Wow.. You wanna cascade the gain from a metal muff?
I find it extreme enough already.. Doing so is suicidal for me lol..
I've never heard the Metal muff sounding great when boosted by other drives..
