Hmmmm....but as a general rule i'd stay away frm Squiers and low-end Epis had bad experiences with these. Its jus me of course if u wanna try 'em go ahead. The thicker sound of a humbucker is because of the wiring of the 2 single coils 2gether......if u hear a strat with 2 single coils activated it won't sound the same a a humbucker(generally). I'd put my money on the GG1K...........u can add a coilsplit to get a single coil sound frm humbuckers, again to do with the wiring of the pickup. As for earphones, most amps come with earphone input jacks so yes earphones can be used. Jus be careful..........some amps have truly horrible earphone outputs, my old Vox Pathfinder 15R had excellent tones thru the speaker but the earphone output was 'orrible. Gd luck hunting!

if you hear a horrible tone coming out of your headphones after connecting it to the amp, it's really the former's fault. guitar amp's speakers are designed to process guitar signals more exclusively than the average headphones.

you might get better results with devices conceived with headphones in consideration:

=O ohh hehe thnx now then I know the amp itself has a headphone jack lol tht's good news for me =D I thought I have to buy "headphone amps" in order to plug in my headphone XD

Hi sub, erm wad are those 2 devices that u displayed? ^ ^l| looks more complicated than the control panel on an amp to me XD coz I onli know volume, treble and bass

these are actually multi FX unit (ZOOM G1)/ amp emulators (KORG Ampworks) which feature a headphone jack for your listening pleasure, this way, you need not have an amp to enjoy your guitar's music. so it's: guitar + Ampworks + headphones. i employ such line up when playing late at night....

ahh kk i get wad u mean hehe thanks for taking tht pic! With all those adding up, I believe it's gonna sound kickass =D and it's portable too =p~ lol I might get Ampworks one of these days~

I have to say this is one of the most informative threads about guitars in recent times. I have always wondered about the difference between Teles, Les Pauls and Strats and now I know!

hehe finally got my first electric guitar. I bought the SX GG1K starter's pack. Hmm bought it at Davis, one of the staff called wai seng was really friendly to me.

I asked quite a lot of noob questions and he answered them all and even tho I kept asking for him, he's still as friendly as b4 =D

hehe I saw tht the strings were a bit rusty but he said it's juz some taint and rubbed off some to proof to me but after a while I went back and said I'll settle on that package but I hope he could re-string with a new set of strings for me, he end up carrying a whole new set for me XD keke his service was pretty good!

hehe thnx
I had a problem playing the Bm and F chord where I have to place my index finger over all strings XD *ouch* and my fingers are too thin to totally press on all of them and the 3rd string always got muted T_T and when I finally managed to press on the 3rd string, the 6th string got muted coz my finger raised a bit XD

Hmm dunno if my hand posture is wrong or not, I feel a lot of strain on my wrist =X

hmm oh ya do anyone know where can I get stainless steel strings?

Ok... Plain Strings are ALL stainless steel. The wound ones (the 3 thickest ones) are nickel plated, but still with a stainless steel core. unless you want stainless steel wound strings.

Good for you... just don't start going into strats... Strat fans (like me) will be all over you, and at the end, you won't know what is what...

ohh haha so they are all stainless steel but they still rust so quickly (especially plain strings) T_T lol I was wondering if there are any titanium strings coz it's so troublesome to keep changing if not I can keep the strings for almost a lifetime, changing from guitar to guitar ^ ^" sry i'm dreaming again lol

bro bro about u cannot reach the chords, "don't fret on the problem!" ok i don't mean it literally.

do some simple checks when u are doing ur chords.
1. Are You Using The Correct Fingers Stated In Ur Book/Video For That Chord?
(this could be the major problem that makes u go "wtf theres no way my first finger can reach that!"

2. For Some Chords, Only SOME, Make An Exception To Use Ur Preferred Fingering, Still Ensure That The Tone Is Right!
(for example, i always use my thrid finger on the first string when doing a G instead of my pinkie)

3. Make Sure No Fingers Are "accidently" Touching The Rest Of Tha Strings, Don't Just Think, Aiyah Mute Alittle Only Barhs, People Won't Differentciate.

4. Practice Makes Perfect, Do Not Rush To Learn Your Whole Chord Book In An Hour. For Me I Just Revise/Play Over And Again 3 - 5 Chords A Day And Slowly U Can Play Some Songbooks/Tabs.

5. Don't Scream When U Find U're Fingertips Getting Stiff, Flakey Or Hard. Those Are Callapses aka Hard Skin Which Makes Fretting Easier.

I know im not fit to teach anyone lol. just my 5cents donation =P
