reverb is essentially many many short delays. like playing in a small room with the sound continually rebounding back and forth.

i think what makes oasis and such sound big is the 4x12s they use. maybe you could try a cab simulator of some sort?

OT, but does anyone know of any digital(yes digital) delays with a fair amount of delay time, trails when turned off and can be modded with hi-cut to sound more analog?

i know of dd3 that when u on DIST --> Delay, and turn of Dist , u still have ur dist trailing off, then u can turn off ur delay after that if u want to emulate the trail

reverb add space/dimension to sound.

Delay repeat the note one is playing.

both do not sound like each other although the fundamental is based on time delaying.

the trailing off of delay apply only to when you off the delay pedal and the repeat fade off and not immediately cutoff. Having a distortion in front and off the distortion is not delay trailing off. The delay is still processing the note but just that without distortion.

line 6 echopark and akai headrush have the trail off function. Both are digital and have fairly long delay time. Line 6 one has the analog/tape delay that can emulate repeats of darker nature while the headrush has a hi freq roll off control.
