Edwards Les Pauls

Hi,

I'm thinking of going exclusive towards Les Pauls because the floating bridges on most superstrats is turning me off. Just wondering, how much does an Edwards Les Paul cost? In terms of price range at Davis...

Oh and opinions of Edwards Les Pauls?

keep your superstrats in addition to acquiring an Edwards. why not a fixed-bridge version?

i rate the Edwards highly in terms of buil, finish & tone. playability- it's the typical LP-type profile, you either love it or hate it. more importantly, they are mid-priced; very accessive, nothing extravagant.

Actually just considered the factors... A LP is very heavy and cumbersome...

Morever, Ibanez has a large variety of fixed-bridge guitars, particularly the SZ series and RG Fixed. So yeah I'm kinda sticking with fixed-bridge superstrats and fatstrats by Ibanez...

An Edwards single-cut would be a nice addition for studio purposes though :)

wait how much is an edwards LP at G77?

Damn now I dunno whether get Tele or Edwards LP

What kinda music you looking into? For some heavier stuff, you might wanna try an LP because its humbuckers give more output and distortion... For soft rock or blues, etc, a Tele does it best...

Just my 2 cents...

Hmm, there's a particular lemon at G77 now though which was rather unfortunate as it was the first edwards lp i played. Besides feeling off-balanced, one "flaw" of it was that the neck binding was not rounded off during production. Really hurts to play it and I was very put off by edwards thinking that they are overhyped until I subsequently found out on a later date that the rest of the edwards were great. I guess it was just that particular one which was bad.

On another note, the SZ series is a great sounding guitar. Sounds like a more refined and polite les paul with finesse in tone. I didn't care for its 3 way mini toggle or that it was quite body heavy though.

2 particular guitars caught my attention when I was auditioning electrics for a friend though. Both are at Swee Lee Sims Drive and coincidentally (or not), both are from Cort. I particular dig the kantana for its cut and air-iness and another singlecut model for its richness and cleans. Tested through a 100W Laney TH-300 stack and Ibanez ToneblasterX 212.

Anyway, you should give the PRS singlecut se models a try too! All of these guitars I've mentioned have awesome playability.

yup the guitars that were tested sounded good except for the JS1000 and the S320 at swee lee sims drive which went

*clears throat*
KWA KWA KWA KWA KWAAAA

Heavy and cumbersome? No lei... my Edwards is really light. Love it. It's a myth about heavy guitars are needed for a good tone.

Check this out.

This song was initially played with the edwards until the more intense distortion mark around 1:36, then it's the JP6 I have that's talking.

Here's a track done entirely on a strat. Not heavy enough?

It's all about application lah. Not the pups...

Edwards go from 1.1 to 1.6+ at davis. do check with them for accurate prices. Do check guitar77 as they carry edwards as well. edwards for its price is an absolutely great guitar imo
