edwards guitars made in china

But they aren't overcharging us are they? Take a look @ the price on the Edwards website + shipping + tax + rent, don't u think it is already very reasonable?

Might as well ask Davis or G77 to give away the guitars for free since it is MIC.

You're missing the point. I did not say anything about MIC or the price. You said it's all in the mind and I said , yeah , it's nicer to minds to know that they own a MIJ instead of a MIC.

i didn't say it's not reasonable...well...it always be good if can get a good guitar at cheaper price right?

good guitar is a good guitar indeed regardless the country of origin...but still in the actual consumer view point, being MIJ or MIA is one of the selling point

when 1 of the selling point gone and sales are dropping price might get reduced

To be honest, wanna buy these products, dun buy it in a resale country like Singapore, chances are prices gonna kill your pocket.

You want MIJ products, wait for ur friends go to Japan, buy it there and hand carry back for you. Likewise for American products.

All the extra money we pay goes where? to shipping companies (for shipping cost), to government (for tax/tariffs) and to our local stores (for rents, salaries, profits etc.).

it's out of the topic Mr bukka,

the fact that edwards "MIJ" labels had already mislead most of the buyers.

Well ok if it's the labeling that is causing all these unhappiness i can understand and i do agree cause labeling is an issue to some because it is part of the selling point in their views. So perhaps Edwards should label their guitars made in japan/china in the future to avoid misunderstandings on their side

as long as the tone and quality of the guitar is not compromised,i dont think ill mind if its made in japan or china.

The open book headstock on this one is good, but I think it is also the one factor that made people believe that it is a MIJ cuz MIJ Epip has that open book headstock too.

Overall, I feel tone, feel and look to be equal @ 4 out of 5.

Well it is a grey area cause the thread starter stated that the parts r fabricated in china but final assembly, setup and QC check are done in japan, thus it is hard to define where exactly it is made in.

I dun mind if Edwards are made in China. If you look at the guitars, you can see that they are very well built and quality parts are used.

sori to intrude but theres a victor wong selling ibanez v7 for $1.5k.if it's good nobody cares where its made right?should i buy it?tanx

Yes, of course you can buy it if you think it is good.

But people are not buying from him because he's selling fake guitars. It's so much more than just country of origin.

Edwards, MIC or MIJ, are still genuine Edwards. Please don't mix these two issues up, they are like oil and water.

If you are talking about Edwards lying and all that, well, no they are not lying. They are just withholding certain information. Grey area? Definitely.

If you read the threads posted in mylespaul forum regarding this issue, it states clearly that ESP is not denying the fact that initial manufacturing is done in China. If you ask, they tell. So they are not lying.

They can still be considered MIJ because only the initial manufacturing is done in China. Other important aspects of the manufacturing are still done in Japan.

When a certain percentage of a good is manufactured in a certain country, they can be labelled as MIJ, or MIA for that matter. As long as the percentage is met, it's MIJ or MIA for you. It doesn't have to be 100%.

And to be honest, if it's 100% MIJ, they will surely promote the fact widely. Something like, 'Fully hand-crafted in Japan by master Japanese luthiers' and that sort of stuff.
