Earthing Problem

hi there,

i´m having an earthing problem with my electric guitar.(Ibanez GSA60) Whenever it´s connected and turned on... there´s a constant buzzing, until my hand touches any metallic part of the guitar. (strings, pegs, anything metal)

This buzzing interference occurs even when played "clean", so i guess it´s not the "distortion" problem.

I suspect an earthing problem. Any help to help me find my problem? how is an electric guitar grounded?

Thx alot for ur help

i think Beez can give you a diagnosis of what´s not right... good thing about him is that he´ll hear you (& your guitar) out first, if it´s not within his technical domain then he´ll be frank about it.

Beez (not bees

) is a salesperson in Music Plaza (Plaza Singapura, Level 6). he does repairs (selected) too.

i recommend him to all those who wish to seek guitar rectification because he does the job on the spot & explains what he´s doing to your guitar. he will charge you a reasonable price for his services & puts down a one year personal guarantee

above all, he´s friendly & won´t rip you off...

SOLVED!!

It´s cos i was using the original Amp power cable, 2-pin like those used in New Zealand type. It didn´t ground well

to all those people suffering from grounding problems, it might just be your Guitar Amp´s Power CABLE!

gRrrr....took me so long to figure it out ahha

Cheers,

coincidentally- Beez did pointed out once that most humming/ earthing problem is due to the 2-pin type plug... if this is the case, then DIY...

next up would be those cheap cables...
