Hi all,

Once again, a BIG round of applause for ALL!!!

On behalf of Sg Drummer's Circle, our heartfelt thanks to

- Brandon (bklk) whose double bass chops, understanding & application of odd time signatures was a real eye opener

- Wen who shared a lot of his own experiences with drumming: getting & playing to, behind & in front of the click, trad & matched grips, stroking & bounce, kick techniques

- Ah Pek, who, as always, shared plenty of god-knows-what (shuffles i remember, amongst others )

last but not least, every single one of you softies/drummers who came, saw & played. despite the slow start (our circle was several men down today, ohfunk & biz2020 your presence were sorely missed :( ) and the weather, the xchange gradually warmed up and it was heartening to see many of you coming up to play towards the later part of the xchange!!! :D

i'll try and upload the clips of today's xchange by tomorrow or monday evening latest.

to those softies/drummers that couldn't make it, no worries, hope to see you at the next one, until then, keep drumming and keep the faith!!!

warm regards

Hey Alfe!! Great Job on organinsing this exchange. Its very encouraging to know that you had a great turn out and also got some very acomplished local drummers to support the exchange. Hope to keep the trend going. Too bad I missed it. Will look forward to the clips if any and also to the next exchange.

hey!

great job in organising such events! i guess i enjoyed watching u guys playing! well, personally, i find the 4 piece set easier for demostration! will be coming for the next one!

Hi All :)

Had a good time on sat. It's good to have Brandon showing us some progressive drum-licks and Wen for showing us his approach on groove, sticking and fills pattern. And also, some of you as usual, asked me for shuffle grooves again

Anyways, after the jam most of you softies left(maybe some went 4 John Blackwell clinic). Usually we'll hang out at the coffee-shop and get to know each other better and also we could transcribe some grooves/strokes and share. Hope to see more of you the next time :D

Keep the Faith!!

i've got a suggestion. after the speaker explain his techniques and chops, we should let him play to a music that he has brought n show us how to use it effectively. i tink it will be better understanding and impose a deeper impression!!

Bro, for the drum x-change, we at SDC(Singapore Drummers Circle) will try to get some bassist frens to come by and jam. I understand what you meant, but for the drum-xchange, usually, we do have 1 or 2 bassists during the jam. Anyways, since you brought up the ideas, it's also better for attendees to ask question and bring the music/cd, and ask the pros to explain the groove/technique of the songs. Beyond that, have to go for lessons already bro

when will the next exchange be? haha, hopefully before i go NS.

Most probably we will have the next one in Jan since Dec is a festive season but we at SDC might do a more in-depth mini-jam in december :D

I think everyone should share something, be it a lick or groove, ideas, anything. I'm sure everyone has something to share.

Yeah Pulse dude!!! u must!!! hope the other guys like sunsetstone, shred5 also!!! hopefully the next one will have little schedule clash and good weather :D

funkifized,

also hope that would happen!!! but usually the softies very shy  ... hopefully in time to come everybody will be very jolly and enthusiastic to share his/her own stuffs about drumming that makes him/her click hehe!!!

cheers,
alfe
