haha although this comment is out of the thread i went to esplande recently outside mastero guitar theres this NUS guys playing electronic music, their composition don appeals me what irks me most is the way they perform. there werent even signs or even signals to show they were performing!. well i sat there for 2 songs and left , there were no one there too accept their minorities friends.

some of the drum and bass styles i learnt today...
1) the drumbeats are irregular
2) dissonants chords are used
3) the methods to create the feel of pads but you wouldnt able to hear the pads notes!!! this is whereby you create a pad and put a strong reverb effect on it . when you cancel out the sound you will be able to hear only the reverb of the pad, i heard a few of the dnb and found out that this techniques is constanly used.
4) sub bass is used rather than bass.

lastly i decided to jazz up my dnb assigment rather than just having drums for the work.

lastly rottenramone you played drum and bass right what do you feel is essitial in this style too. and what type of drum and bass do you think is nice and worth listening to?

hmm i'm still exploring cos i is a n00b in the wonderful world of DnB. me and Ebon5 are forming a live DnB outfit.

basswise, i've done up a couple of basslines and a dubby, thick, upright sound adds to the flavour.

i really can't answer your qn... but i can recommend the standard/essential DnB outfits such as Photek or something harder like Roni Size.

roni size ain't hard enough... roni size is lam n bass for the masses but he's goot!

some hardstep junglist people are even way out... can't remember names cos i used to tune to those internet lalio lam n bass thingie... whooooot!

btw ...Techstep came to dominate the drum and bass genre, with artists like Konflict and Bad Company ...but when i threw it at the dance floor ...people flipped and and every night was my last show at that club

bro rottenramone bro, I is likes the idea a lot as I mentioned to you before. But like what bro Ebon5 bro said, the glitchy bits are hard to play. Maybe a mixture of loops/ samples and live drums will give it a lot of kick!
