Go have a look. The local junglist community is pretty active, and you'll probably be able to get better responses from the more well-versed and well-endowed folks over there.

Drum And Bass in itself, is in essence just a form of electronic music. Early runs would be like, 808 State, LTJ Bukem acid jazz stuff, and of course, people like Andy C, Roni Size, and DJ Shadow  , leading up to more modern stuff like Shy FX, Fanu, etc. etc. Most of this music is characterised by generous usage of breakbeats and tempo-varying, pitch-shifting drum lines. Vocals wise it's pretty much split into a few categorisations, there's the kind with chill-out vocals samples, female vocal samples, mad 1337 mach 10 speed spitting, the heavy jamaican accents, all over melodies heavily influenced by several styles like hip-hop, jazz and funk.

As I said, you'd probably get a better listing of tracks and artists over at exitmusik. They actually really know what they're talking about.
