Drop D tuning

Drop-D is heavy enough for beginners, but after a while when they get better, they will want to drop tune further for even heavier sounds, especially if they're into death, doom metal.

But there are those who are already musicians, yet have a good reason to stick to standard-E or just drop-D, like me. But I think most rock guitarists prefer these two tunings, and usually won't detune further.

or 8...

Haha and there're those who think... What if 7-strings packs are harder to find?

Surprisingly there are no 12-string electric guitars yet!

woo 8 strings.whats the tuning?GBEADGBE?

to whoever said drop c is a hinderance or whatever well you are wrong.provided that you even said you never tried the tuning before.your post was much of ignorance.

12 strings are common dude..
Drop C is not really a hindrance..
It's nice to whack once in a while.. Playing stuff like Children of Bodom and As I Lay Dying can be quite feeling..
But.. I'd rather tune to Drop D for convenience sake.. Easier to retune to standard tuning..

eh btw.is the valve jr good at producing metal tone.provided with pedals at the front.sorry if off topic.might be looking to own one in the future.

thats why many people gas on guitars.more guitars = more tuning to play with.

heh, its never a waste when one is able to find reasons to justify it. I mean, just ask some of the bros bros round here

we live by when theres reasons to justify and able to spend the money, buy, post reviews, help others, influence others or command a following of supporters/believers...

When some people have favourites, the others will barely be touched :)

I unfortunately belong to this group, so yeah the most guitars I'll own is two electrics and two acoustics.

But I agree that drop-D and standard E are easily switched. On a fixed-bridge guitar, retune the top D to E and its in standard E. How easy is that? Unless you've got a lousy tuner like mine :)

the begining was drop d.....then drop tune to C....then wanna play slipknot drop to B......fedup go buy 7 string.......now i have A + E standard.....wat else could i ask for :twisted:

the drive output for the Valve Jr is pedal dependent; if you pedals are up to task, highly likely you'll hear good tones coming from this amp.

currently, it's capable of pulling off very intense/ smooth tones with ease.

Wow.. Now I feel like getting a Valve Jr!
It's cleans were already one of the best I've heard so far..
Very round tone to it..
I wouldn't mind using pedals only as my main source of drive..
I've learnt that leaning on amp drives ain't reliable; you can't bring along your amp for jamming/performances..
It's possible to drive a 2x12 cab with this right?

yeah now im really gonna get one.was about to ask the same qns.how about 2x12.im too scared to voice it thru a 4x12.might just blow the glass off my room window.
