does it piss you off when people judge you based on how you look?

eg in our context, we are rockers and look the part then we kena judged by so called "prim and proper looking" people that we are good for nothing, don't have good education, don't have good jobs, whole day relac slack do nothing except strum guitar? when in actual fact a person's dressing, looks and hobbies has NOTHING to do with his character!

the so called prim and proper person making such judgments and passing remarks about the rocker is just nothing more than a shallow hypocrite imo. look prim and proper yet inside so rotten. and just because you are a rocker doesn't mean you don't go to school or work.

Not in terms of looking like rockers or anything. Just gender issues sometimes, it gets really annoying over time, dunno how many deep breaths I've to take to calm down. Not like dressing casual and never wearing skirts or heels makes me something else.

Come on la, don't like to dress like a girl doesn't mean I'm not feminine, I just like the convenience of being able to throw on my t-shirt, jeans and shoes and waltz out the door within 10 minutes and be on time for appointments. The convenience of being able to jump around, sit comfortably without being so cautious about whether my shoe will break or my skirt will fly.

Or if I dye my hair some gold color, people will think I'm a hooligan. I think they'll be like wtf when if someone like that suddenly come up to them and tell them "I got Doctorate degree" or something, lol.

Casual wear the way I like it, and I don't need anyone else to tell my otherwise. I have better things to do than get angry with those judgemental people who think that I'm just lousy and incompetent because I'm not a typical girl according to them. They can laugh, whisper and point but they're just wasting time. Compared to them, we'll have the last laugh when they're shocked to realize the truth of who and what we are really made of.

Why do their comments/remarks/judgements even matter to you? Shouldn't you 'rockers' have this heck-care attitude regarding society's view on you?

That said, you cannot run away from the fact that people will judge you from their first impression of you, which means the way you dress. Arrive for a job interview in a sweaty mizuno running top and fbt short shorts and you can be damn sure they'll swipe you off their list before you even utter a word.

I'd argue otherwise. It is of human nature to judge by appearance. We ARE what we wear to a degree. We wear to express. For example, if you are poor, you'd dress as that. If you're a metalhead, you'd dress like that. Hence, I think that it is reasonable for people to judge by looks.

The question at hand, however, is people's perceptions and stereotypes.
