Do you think guitar players play better when they are drunk?

i've played when i was drunk before. my friends commented my singing was soooooper awesome. but my playing was horrid.

dont do it. i ended up smashing the guitar into my friends face, not that hard, just hit his face with it. and he's the owner of the guitar (its a ibanez rg). he was piss drunk too. so he knocked out cold and i dropped the guitar on the floor and passed out.

so.. dont do it..

Yea, don't do it. Alcohol dulls your senses too..plus it's bad for your health to over-drink. And you'll feel like crap the next morning o.0. I used to be alcohol reliant before getting on stage. It just makes you feel more confident, doesn't really make you play better. Maybe it does add more feel to your playing, but definitely won't make you play like a Slash or Dimebag Darrell.

Take my advice =D

those guys drink beer no matter what they're doing, i dont think it makes them play better cause they drink beer all the friggin time

but drinking to play better didnt work for herman li and sam tottman

I don't usually get drunk easily but I'm still able to play when my world's spinning. But I'm a shitty guitarist when I'm sober, much less drunk.

alcohol dosent really help unless you've just hit a rut and you need ideas for songwriting.

something else before going on stage does =p

Who needs alcohol! Most of the best music written were when musicians were HIGH, on DRUGs!

Think Hendrix, RHCP, Bon Jovi (and the list goes on)..

Or maybe just cigs for good ol SRV..

yeah.. but i dont know how they did it, because my friends and i write really really really good stuff when we're high. but the thing is we always forget what we write. so we solved the problem by bringing in a recorder and record the whole session.

how did hendrix do it? i dont know..
