Do Singapore Vocalist Suck?

I've been auditioning vocalists for the past 8 months, and none
of them even come close to what we've expected.

So many people flocking over to Singapore Idol when HELLO, do
you guys realize that you all actually can't sing?

Come on, someone prove me wrong and show me that Singapore
has talent!

I've seen great guitarists, great bassists, great drummers, but I can't
seem to find a single vocalist that sounds decent.

For me i think that it's the way our accent sound very singlish even though our pronunciation may be perfect. Well, just my 2 cents.

there are many good ones out there. those that suck are those that don't practice, they think singing is something as natural as talking

Good ones are usually taken up...so guess u need to be patient and discover a new talent...

some may have hidden talent but are not trained...so if you spot one, perhaps can nurture them...

many of them perhaps did not know singing is actually not easy.....

I think you just haven't met the right one...

Singing is just like learning any other instruments, needs practise and techniqes to make it good...

I know quite a number of ppl out there who can sing pretty well, but either they are taken up or they do solo stuff.

err...i guess u gotta look more than just the vocal parts...
i admit i'm not into pop (especially c-pop), but she composed most of her songs, n i mean the music, the melody. she's not like those typical money-making machines who only write lyrics n claim themselves as "composer". would anyone pay attention to songs w super meaningful well-written lyrics but sucky melody? but it's different the other way round.
anyway my point is she's not just some pretty face (up to one's standard) who can earn big bux.
