ya dude..if what she said about her husband is true...she is really a kind woman who raelly loves him now even though he is f up(no other word to describe him). BUT if wad she say isnt true, than she is just a pathetic human. NEUTRAL SIDE HERE.

AND 1 THING I WONDER. i mean to gain better trust, she can get a pay per lesson kind of system. She can write a contract with the parents on how many lessons they will have, and students need to attend that amount of lesson. IF students skip too much or terminate the contract, parents still need to pay the remaining lesson. Kinda good i feel.
She only taught me twice since last year october till I gave up and requested for a refund. After deducted the lesson fee, she still own me SGD$280, and after few months chasing, she MANAGED to pay me only $90. If I'm able to check and read this forum earlier, I won't be fall into the trap. Now, just keep chasing and hoping to get back my refund.

I had a transferred student. According to him, his instructor claimed it was possible to complete grade 5 theory syllabus within 16 weeks without any theory foundation and demonstrate her knowledgable by explaining the cycle of 5th very well. It's less than 7weeks away from the exam and she is still canceling lessons and promising him that there will be enough time to past the exam. It's not just the money. She's wasting months of her students. I am not sure if it's the same 'Ms Khoo'. She would had changed her name. If she is, she's still active.

Hey guys, I don't know if this is the same person that we're talking about but I am being victimised by my theory teacher. The background sounds the same though - vibrant in church, blah blah blah. She's supposed to be teaching me grade 8 theory. I wanted to take my grade 6 exam but she convinced me to do grade 8 instead because it's a waste of money to do grade 6 and then 7 when all you really need is 8... Fine, no problem. I have a lot of prior music knowledge anyway so I figured sure do 8. I signed up for the theory exam, we had our first class. She wanted $720 for the whole course of theory classes but I wasn't going to let her do that, so I said okay can I pay you $240 first.
Originally she wanted me to transfer it into her bank account, saying that she has had students in the past who repeatedly cancel on her. MY FOOT. Then I said no I'm not comfortable, then she said can I transfer just $50 in there then? I said okay, but I didn't do it anyway. She came very punctually for my first lesson, and I was actually quite impressed by her teaching so I gave her $240. Second lesson was repeatedly cancelled and postponed but we eventually had it near end-December. Since then, we have had repeated cancellations, over and over and over again. I think it's over 20 cancellations now, only 2 lessons, and she's still confident I can do well in grade 8 theory.
It is now 2 weeks to my grade 8 exam, I have NO knowledge of grade 8 theory, and I am going to file a police report today. I've resorted to studying on my own so that I don't waste my grade 8 fee.
The woman's name is now Catherine Ding, and her phone, like that of the Mrs Koo above, is constantly spoiling, changing numbers, having problems, her dad's always landing up in hospital, her sister's PhD project ran into difficulties and her sister has to go back to switch off equipment so she has to feed her hospitalised dad instead of her sister, blah blah blah. I say they're all fake. Stay away from Catherine Ding, you have been warned - also, I recommend only ever paying AFTER your lessons instead of before.
Her numbers are 97650657 and 83145293. DO NOT USE CATHERINE DING. I have demanded refunds but I agreed to let her wait until after the exams are over to 'prove herself' before demanding the refund. Anyway I'm studying theory on my own, now. Bloody cheat, that's all I can say. I'm not going to let this go, she's definitely done this a million times before so I'm going to put and end to it right now.
She has been owing me lessons since end-December 2010, I started lessons with her November 30 2010. Owing me 6h worth of lessons now, total $180, and I'm looking to make her pay my grade 8 exam fee as well since SHE was the one who asked me to do grade 8. Grade 6 I would have absorbed it myself but not grade 8.

She's a proper and incorrigible con woman who deserves a prison sentence. Same modus operandi, just different names and contact numbers. If anyone has her photo, maybe you can post it here....so everyone will recognise her face and also prevent others from getting cheated.
Hope the police will do something about it, and not file it under "non-sizeable offence" and then go back catching Chee Soon Juan.

I filed a police report today under 'alleged cheating'. There will be an investigating officer dealing with this case, especially since it's happened several times before but under so many different names. Can all those who have been victimised by her please leave your names below so that in case we do get a hold of her we can all confront her together? Catherine Ding, Maxine Teng, it's all the same bloody person.

Replied! FYI she managed to Google herself and find this thread. She will be reading this from now on I'm sure. She wants me to remove the pictures from my post above, which I will - the moment she delivers on her promise of lessons. I'm gonna keep using her for classes because it's too close to my exams already and I can't risk changing teachers. But if she cancels again (which I'm sure she will) I'm studying on my own to safeguard myself.

You know, I thought this Mrs Koo thingy died long ago, especially after I'd read about her in TNP (last year, wasn't it?). She obviously doesn't know when to give up. Hope you guys get your money back.
